Malayan Insurance Now Covers Your High-Voltage Battery

Good news, electrified vehicle owners: Malayan Insurance has now expanded its automotive insurance to cover one of the costliest parts: the high-voltage battery.

Realizing that the shift to electrified mobility doesn’t just require motorists and auto brands to adapt, but insurers as well, the AutoMaster motor insurance now covers the high-voltage battery found in BEVs, PHEVs, and HEVs.

“Consumers shouldn’t have to become insurance experts simply because their vehicles are becoming more complex. There is also a responsibility on insurers to make protection clearer and more relevant to the vehicles people are choosing today,” said Isauro “Jun” Cotoco Jr., Chief of Sales at Malayan Insurance.

Malayan Insurance understands that car insurance can be an important consideration when buying a new vehicle, especially in today’s economic climate. But as vehicles become more advanced, it’s equally important to understand that the insurance is suited to the vehicle itself.

Its AutoMaster motor insurance doesn’t just cover accident or vehicle damage for electrified vehicles. They also consider services such as towing, roadside assistance, and coverage for the battery itself.

“An EV isn’t simply a conventional vehicle with a different power source. Its battery, technology and servicing needs change the ownership experience, and the protection around it needs to recognize those differences,” added Cotoco.
