Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the Michelin Guide returns to the Philippines for a second year, continuing to shine a spotlight on the country’s rich culinary heritage, warm hospitality, and dynamic new generation of talent.

This year’s ceremony also carries added historical significance, falling within the year the global gastronomy community commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Michelin Star. Since the introduction of the Michelin Star rating system in 1926, the Michelin Guide has continued to honor culinary mastery and recognize restaurants that deliver outstanding dining experiences.

The ceremony is also an opportunity to spotlight what each distinction represents. The Michelin Star, awarded as One Michelin Star, Two Michelin Stars, or Three Michelin Stars, recognizes the very best of culinary excellence. Bib Gourmand highlights restaurants offering good quality, good value cooking and is widely regarded as one of the Michelin Guide's most popular distinctions among local diners across Asia. Michelin Selected restaurants are establishments that meet the Guide’s rigorous standards and are worthy of a visit.

Every establishment included in the selection is independently assessed by anonymous Michelin Guide Inspectors, according to the five universal criteria:

• The quality of the ingredients
• The mastery of cooking techniques
• The harmony of flavors
• The personality of the cuisine
• The consistency both over time and across the menu

Aside from an exclusive invitation-only evening celebrating culinary excellence, the Michelin Guide Restaurant Ceremony Manila and Environs & Cebu 2027 will be live-streamed via the Michelin Guide Asia YouTube channel.
