Mazda Teases 2019 Mazda3; Global Reveal Slated in November

In a lead up to its global reveal at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Mazda has ramped up their striptease of the all-new 2019 Mazda3. The first is a short video released today.

In the 15-second video, Mazda has showed off bits and pieces of their upcoming compact car. It’s pretty evident that it borrows a lot of inspiration from the Kai Concept down to the 5-door’s sleek-looking hatch shut line. The taillights also look more sculpted than the current model as well. Another bit looks to show the sedan version where it’s easy to make out the more formal looking side profile with less curves.

The video is captioned with “A New Era Begins” which is appropriate given that the Mazda3 is the start of the carmaker’s “7th Generation or 7G” line-up. It’ll pack a new platform as well as a revolutionary new engine called Skyactiv-X.

We happen to drive the 2019 Mazda3 in prototype form and you can read our impressions here. For now though, let’s all wait and see what Mazda has in store.
