We Heard You Like Wings and Downforce On Your Nissan GT-R

We hear you love wings and lots of downforce, so here’s a Nissan GT-R with a humongous wing grafted on its front-end to the point that from some angles, it’s actually hard to tell which is the front and rear ends.

Thankfully, this isn’t for show because this particular GT-R is going hill climb racing with Franco Scribante Racing which will use this heavily modified beast for South Africa’s Simola Hillclimb.

The build was done in cooperation with Dodson Motorsport and they haven’t exactly come up with a downforce figure yet, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to be extra large given the size of them wings. Coupled with the massive stacked wing, this GT-R’s 3.8-liter V6 has been tuned to put down 1,600 horsepower or almost double the stock car.

Normally, hill climb racers have to generate lots of downforce to keep them glued to the tarmac, but because winged setups also result in drag, it’s normally a balancing act. Still, perhaps these guys have found a way to eek some kind of performance advantage with this setup.
