Perennial Plagiarist CarDekho Acquires Carmudi Philippines

Perennial plagiarist CarDekho (and by extension, their sister website ZigWheels) has announced that they’ve acquired used car classified website, Carmudi Philippines.

With that, the Philippines will be the second country that’ll suffer from their infuriating flooding of search engines and social media feeds, and stolen stories written without proper attribution.

According to their official press release, CarDekho is moving to “digitalizing the entire Philippine auto ecosystem,” and that the industry should expect “a series of disruptive innovations.” Yup, of blatantly copying material from other websites, including ours.

Anyway, moving on, CarDekho says they’re focused on building a “complete, new car and used car ecosystem platform in every country it establishes operations in, to effectively engage consumers throughout their car-buying journey. In the Philippines, CarDekho will aggressively focus on building up and digitizing the ecosystem and offer end to end solutions to both new and used car buyers.”

K.

Here are some examples (and this is just from the past month):
The best one though has to be our interview with Mazda3 engineer Koichiro Yamaguchi where we talked about the compact car’s unique features. The thing is, this round table was done with just 4 people and there was no one from ZigWheels there. And yet, here it is and there is no fucking attribution.

We do hope that the caliber of journalism there improves thanks to our friends at Carmudi Philippines.

UPDATED: CarDekho, through our friends at Carmudi Philippines reached out to us and explained that the write ups posted on ZigWheels and CarDekho were done by freelance writers paid on an article basis (they basically search other websites for news stories). They have promised to audit the content of their website and take down/attribute articles which they have lifted from other sources including ours.
