Chery Auto PH Sells Out Initial Batch of Tiggo 7 Pro Units

Demand for Chery’s all-new Tiggo 7 Pro has been so high that the first batch of the compact SUV, launched only last January 27, was sold out within 30 days. And there is already a growing waiting list for the next shipment scheduled to arrive this March.

The Tiggo 7 Pro is Chery’s first all-new model since the brand made a grand entrance into the Philippine automotive market in November 2019. It joins the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 5x, and Tiggo 8 in the line-up.

While still remaining focused on consumers looking for great value in their new cars, Chery Auto Philippines is also setting its sights on a new segment of buyers who still want value but desire more luxury and premium features.

“The warm market acceptance to the all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is a strong indication that more and more Filipino buyers are no longer just settling for bargains or low-priced units, but are now looking for true great value, regardless of brand,” says Chery Auto Philippines President Rommel Sytin.

“Filipinos are now aware that they can get all the features—and even more—than what the established brands are giving, at a better price,” Sytin added.

But it’s not just pure price that are bringing buyers to Chery showrooms. “The Tiggo 7 Pro has the upmarket styling and features that can let it sit side by side with premium brands and still hold its own,” declared Sytin.

The new Tiggo 7 Pro’s design was penned by a Briton who used to design BMWs and Mazdas, Chery’s Vice President and Global Chief of Car Design, Kevin Rice. Rice was instrumental in the design of Mazdas, including the MX-5, from 1999 to 2005 as Mazda’s European Design Director, and with BMW, for the exterior design of the previous 1, 3, and 4 Series.

The Tiggo 7 Pro presents a compelling face with its big, bold grille and slim LED headlamps. The foglamps and daytime running lights (DRLs) are all LED as well for state-of-the-art road illumination. More upmarket styling touches include a floating roof effect achieved by black wrap-around rear pillars, distinctive character lines, and large 18-inch alloy wheels.

The interior’s leather-covered cabin reflects the exterior’s upscale style and premium build quality. Classy red accents on the doors and dashboard blend with the sporty red double stitching on the dashboard as well as on the leather-covered seats and center armrest. There is a biggest-in-class 10.25-inch touchscreen 6-speaker infotainment system that boasts Bluetooth, Mirror Link, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and USB connectivity. A touch-panel controls the dual zone climate control system. The Tiggo 7 Pro also has wireless mobile phone charging plus three USB ports.

Other premium Tiggo 7 Pro features include a panoramic sunroof, multi-color cabin ambient lighting, 360-degree HD camera, a power tailgate, an electronic parking brake, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rear camera with front and rear proximity sensors, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The all-new Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a new 1.5-liter turbocharged DOHC 16-valve Euro 5 4-cylinder engine coupled with an all-new continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Tiggo 7 Pro’s safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Assist Control (HDC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and ISOFIX child-seat tethers.

As of now, the all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro has a retail price of still, P1,198,000 as the distributor announced its absorption of the safeguard tariff until March 31, 2021.
