Mazda Embraces Two-Tone Color Schemes With 2022 CX-3

Mazda is continuing to show love towards its entry-level SUV, the CX-3, with a new variant that’s meant to show their edgy style. Appropriately called, “Super Edgy” it gains added equipment and new color combinations.

Setting the CX-3 Super Edgy from the rest of the CX-3 line-up is the adoption of a two-tone exterior with the upper part painted black. Exterior color choices also include the new Platinum Quartz Metallic. For those who find the two-tone color option a bit too garnish (us included), the CX-3 can still be ordered in the single-tone exterior color, but with high-gloss black accents.

Inside, the CX-3 Super Edgy takes on a three (!) tone color scheme with white, brown, and black. There are even red copper accents on the air conditioning louvers and seats for increased elegance and “sex appeal” (Mazda’s words, not ours).

The seating material itself is covered in Grand Luxe which is smooth to the touch. Other features include Qi wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and an expanded infotainment screen (from 7 to 8 inches).

Mechanically, the CX-3 Super Edgy remains unchanged. For the Japanese market, it’s powered by a 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine making 111 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. The transmission remains a 6-speed automatic.

The 2022 Mazda CX-3 Super Edgy is a Japan exclusive model for now, but some of the new equipment (wireless Apple CarPlay and Qi wireless charging) may soon make its way to global markets during the next product update.
