The One-Millionth Peugeot 3008 Just Rolled Off The Assembly Line

Five years after its launch, the Peugeot 3008 has reached a milestone as the one millionth model rolled off the production line. The celebratory model, a 3008 Hybrid, rolled off the production lines at the Sochaux factory in France.

Manufactured not just in Europe, but in China and even Malaysia as well, the Peugeot 3008 has been a huge success to the French brand. Aside from its commercial success, it received more than 76 awards worldwide, including the European Car of the Year in 2017.

In its home market of France, the Peugeot 3008 has been the leader in its segment since its first month on the market. In Europe, it comes in second place in the SUV segment in 2021. It has also taken a strong position in Southern Europe, where it is number one in Portugal, and number two in Italy and Spain.

Europe accounts for 65 percent of Peugeot 3008 sales. Its major markets outside Europe are Turkey, Israel, Japan, and Egypt. More than 80 percent of the units sold are equipped with automatic gearboxes, while 38 percent are of higher trim models—an illustration of Peugeot’s upmarket positioning.

In 2020, the 3008 received a refresh (see lead photo). That updated version just started rolling off the assembly lines in Malaysia, where the Philippines has been getting its 3008 since 2019. The updated Peugeot 3008 is expected to arrive locally by 2022.
