The 2022 Carnival Offers First-Class Travel Kia Style (w/ Brochure)

Kia’s a brand on a mission. With a brand-new logo and slogan, they are set to elevate the in-car experience so owners can drive full speed towards what inspires them. After the Sorento, the next vehicle to lead the charge is the all-new 2022 Carnival. Dubbed, a “Grand Utility Vehicle” it is the first-class motoring Kia style.

With over two million units sold since 1998, the Carnival has become a household name for Kia. For the fourth-generation model, Kia Philippines is bringing in two variants—the EX and SX, both in a 7-seater configuration.

Outside, both variants look the same and come in three colors: Astra Blue, Snow White Pearl, and Aurora Black Pearl. The top-of-the-line SX retails starting this month for P 2,988,000 and will be joined in March by the EX for P 2,540,000 (the Snow White Pearl commands a further P 10,000 premium).

As a Grand Utility Vehicle, the all-new Kia Carnival has a strong sense of solidity with its SUV-inspired design. The athletic bodywork features the brand’s expansive Tiger-Nose grille that spans the entire width of the front. It integrates LED headlights and DRLs to give it that confident and futuristic look.

At the side, you will notice the unique “island roof” design with blacked-out A- and B-pillars supporting the body-colored roof. It also has an eye-catching C-pillar signature as well. While, at the rear, the Carnival is robust in stature, and boasts of a wide, distinctive new look accentuated by a full-width light bar.

As impressive as the Carnival is outside, it truly levels up on luxury, refinement, and tech inside.

The spectacle begins with the dual power sliding doors and tailgate. Once inside, the Carnival’s new platform and larger body, gives it unrivaled space for everyone aboard.

For the Philippine market, the it comes with second-row Captain’s Seats finished in leather. The top-of-the-line SX variant goes one step further with its “Premium Relaxation Seats.” Adjustable back-, arm-, and leg rests provide a business class experience, while a one-touch “Relaxation mode” offers maximum comfort whether in stop-and-go traffic or on long drives.

Passengers can also opt to let nature in via its Dual Sunroof, or keep themselves cool with vented seats for both the first and second row of seats.

Luxury also goes high-tech with the Carnival’s long list of standard features such as: power adjustable seats, 3-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless mobile phone charger, smart entry with remote start, and 2nd and 3rd row sunshade blinds.

Powering the 2022 Carnival is Kia’s new SmartStream diesel engine that provides sufficient power matching the eye-catching looks. The 2.2-liter engine provides a balance between precision and efficiency thanks to its maximum 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque output. This is then mated to a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic. Further elevating the driving experience are switchable driving modes called Drive Mode Select.

A new column-mounted motor-driven power steering set-up replaces the outgoing model’s hydraulic power steering system. This results in a more direct response to steering inputs with a 5.6 percent quicker steering ratio. It also has fully independent suspension with enhancements that deliver better on-road behavior as well as stability and comfort.

Finally, the Carnival boasts of a significant upgrade in safety with these features available: Lane Keep and Following Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert & Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit for Sliding Doors, Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, 6 Airbags, Cruise Control, and Front and Rear Parking Sensors.

The perfect ride for successful businessmen and corporate executives with families has arrived. The Kia Carnival truly lives up to its Grand Utility Vehicle name by blending premium looks with luxury features while remaining uncompromising to comfort and space.

Certainly, Kia’s new brand message, “Movement that inspires” fits well with the all-new Carnival. No other vehicle in its class can certainly re-ignite the drive for life better than this.

  1. Doesn't get the fancy digital gauges available in grey market models, but also a lot cheaper so I guess that makes sense. And like the Sorento, no adapative cruise.. for such an expensive minivan, it should have atleast been available in the TOTL

  2. so kia is moving upmarket? like mazda does? the new logo has a premium look into it but the cars, well not so much, yet...

  3. Overpriced. EX in the US 1.9M pesos... SX 2.2M... granted the diesel engine commands a plus 200k price. Fair price is around 2.1M and 2.4M respectively. I have a feeling now Kia is reverting back to the overpriced Columbian Motor days... expect heavy discounting again in the range of 300k.

  4. Kia Ph asked its HQ if the Kia vehicles sold in the Phils. are also affected by the faulty ABS which is a potential cause of vehicle fire. So far, no response yet from Kia HQ.
I'm not sure if Hyundai Ph communicated with its HQ about the matter.

    1. Yes, we asked the question to Kia even before the press con (and also asked for a statement from Hyundai PH). They will get back to use once the local distributors get word from their Korean counterparts. In the mean time, there is an existing recall for the Sorento and Carnival:
