This Is The 2023 Hyundai Stargazer And It Wants To Challenge The Xpander And Veloz

After teasing it some months back, Hyundai has finally unveiled the first-ever Stargazer MPV. Their entry into the small MPV segment, the 2023 Stargazer brings a sense of futuristic style with practical features aimed specifically at Southeast Asian families.

The Stargazer carries what Hyundai calls a Sleek One Box shape. Along with the One Curve design, it makes for an optimized cabin height. The curve also offers the impression of a taller and wider vehicle too. Upfront, it has full-width horizontal DRL which is inspired by the fact that Southeast Asia is located near the equator. At the back, the rear lamps feature a distinctive “H” design which emphasizes it as a Hyundai product even from a distance. It’s also meant to embody the connection between East and West.

Inside, the Stargazer’s design revolves around Multifunctional Storage Space and this peppers the passengers with versatile storage, some cleverly hidden from sight. Some include small trays, cup holders, extra pockets, picnic tables, and more. The front passengers are treated to a slim, wide dashboard, while for the second row, it gets Captain’s Seats. It will also bring cutting-edge technologies too such as 4.2-inch TFT color LCD instrument cluster, an 8-inch display audio system with smartphone connectivity, and a wireless charger.

Powering the Stargazer is a 1.5-liter MPI 4-cylinder engine good for 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. This is then mated to a CVT gearbox with a built-in step logic (IVT). A 6-speed manual is also available.

The Stargazer also has Hyundai Bluelink—a connected car service that allows owners to always be connected to their vehicle via smartphone. This gives offers functions such as vehicle health monitoring, remote engine on/off, remote air conditioning on/off, and even a vehicle locator. The technology can also provide Stolen Vehicle Notification & Stolen Vehicle Tracking, Stolen Vehicle Immobilization, ACN (Auto Collision Notification), SOS/Emergency Assistance, Roadside Assistance. (RSA), and other security features.

This is on top of Hyundai SmartSense which offers Forward Collision Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blindspot Collision Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.

In Indonesia, its debut market, the 2023 Stargazer arrives in four variants: Active, Trend, Style, and Prime. Prices range from IDR 243,300,000 (P 914,560) to IDR 307,100,000 (P 1.115 million).

More importantly for Filipino customers, newly-appointed distributor Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has hinted that they will be bringing the Stargazer MPV as part of their line-up in the near future.
