Nissan Teases Most Capable Patrol SUV Yet: The 2023 Patrol Warrior

Nissan is teasing a tougher, more capable version of its Patrol full-sized SUV: the first-ever Patrol Warrior. Should the Gazoo Racing-feted Land Cruiser be worried?

Developed by Australia-based Premcar—the same company behind the Navara PRO-4X Warrior—it will receive significant upgrades to its wheels, tires, and suspension all in the name of improving its capability.

No details were given yet (they’ll be provided closer to launch), but Nissan and Premcar says the upgrades will give the Patrol Warrior greater ground clearance, a wider stance, and enhanced ride and handling. All in all, it should take its already famed off-road abilities to a new level. They have confirmed that it’ll be powered by the same 5.6-liter V8 producing 405 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque.

In the two teaser photos shown (above and lead), the Patrol Warrior looks to have chunkier wheels and tires and a side exiting exhaust system.

This is the third model released through the Nissan Warrior program. The first is the Navara N-Trek Warrior which proved to be an enormous success, selling more than 1,000 examples. It’s then followed by the Navara PRO-4X Warrior.

So far, the Premcar-developed models are exclusive to the Australian market. However, Nissan has launched the Warrior line in several other markets including in Thailand. In the Philippines, they also did a concept called the Warrior X way back in 2018.
