Looks Like We Won't Be Getting The All-New Honda Accord Any Time Soon

While there has been some excitement building up to the launch of the all-new, 11th generation Accord, Honda has pretty much poured a big pail of ice-cold water on that by announcing that Southeast Asia won’t be getting that new executive sedan any time soon.

According to Australia’s Car Expert, Honda has confirmed that the Accord for the Japan and Asia-Oceania market (yes, including the one for ASEAN) operates on “a separate model lifecycle” compared to the North American one.

Looking back, the current 10th generation Accord (the one that Honda Cars Philippines axed) was launched here in 2020—a full three years after its global launch in 2017. If the carmaker were to follow the same schedule, it could mean the all-new model isn’t due here for another three years. This means a possible replacement isn’t scheduled until around 2025 to 2026. Insert sad trombone noises.

Still, even if the 11th generation Accord does take its time reaching this part of the world, at least we’ll get to see what the region will stand to get when Honda pulls the wraps off the Accord for the North American market very soon.

  1. Maybe we'll see the return of the Honda Accord in the local market in three years time that is if it went Hybrid/e-HEV..For now HCPI will focus on selling cheaper, affordable and fuel efficient vehicles like the City,Brio,BR-V and WR-V as HCPI wants reclaim its Top 5 spot in the local market..
