Peugeot Philippines brand head Maricar Parco has revealed that they will add new variants to their current range, particularly for the Peugeot 3008, Peugeot 5008, and Peugeot Traveller. Happening in the second quarter, this move aims to offer more options to would-be Peugeot buyers.

Additionally, by the fourth quarter, Peugeot will launch an all-new model that “offers Filipino customers a premium choice in a segment dominated by Asian and American brands.”

Though Parco didn’t reveal what this all-new model could be, the two likely candidates could either be the Peugeot 408 or Landtrek.

Announced as a global model last June 2022, the Peugeot 408 is a vehicle that defies description. It blends traditional crossover styling with a fastback-like roofline and executive sedan space. Meant as a spiritual successor to their 408 sedan, it’s powered by a choice of small displacement 4-cylinder engines, both traditional and electrified. In its most powerful guise, the Hybrid 225 makes 225 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque—figures befitting a flagship.

Another possible candidate (although unlikely) is the Peugeot Landtrek. Already previewed at another ASEAN market (Malaysia), the Landtrek is developed by Chinese joint-venture partner, Changan. Known as the Changan Hunter or Kaicene F70, it packs a 1.9-liter diesel engine making 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, or a gas-fed 2.4-liter with 210 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. It comes in both 4x2 and 4x4 versions.

Along with the new product announcements, Parco also announced steps to improve Peugeot’s service reliability and parts availability. Stellantis, the parent company of Peugeot, has accredited Eurorepar Car Service as supplier for maintenance parts beginning the first quarter of this year. With Eurorepar’s proven reliability and full range of replacement parts, Peugeot owners with out-of-warranty vehicles now have an option for more reasonably priced parts and can continue to enjoy Peugeot service at authorized service centers.

Moreover, Peugeot will launch its Emergency Roadside Assistance or ERA program. Supported by Ibero Asistencia, a global provider of roadside assistance services, the ERA program will cover vehicle recovery, towing, fuel delivery, flat tire replacement, locksmith service, and battery boosting among services. Every brand-new vehicle purchased beginning in the first quarter of this year will be covered by one-year free ERA.

Finally, this January, Peugeot is bringing back its Easy-Own program that offers various financing options with low interest rates.

As a further enticement to purchase a brand-new Peugeot, the company will fly two lucky winners and their plus one to France to witness the Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar take on the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
