Emicor Powers First Mall-Based DC Fast Charger

Emicor, Inc. through its Tritium EV charger brand powers the first-ever Level 3 DC fast charger located in a commercial mall. Located in SM City Baguio, the Tritium RTM 75kW DC Fast Charger tops up a battery electric vehicle (BEV) in as little as 20 minutes—enough time for a quick lunch, grocery shopping, or a stroll around the mall.

This development is welcome in allaying potential setbacks to EV ownership, particularly its range (especially for out-of-town trips) and longer charging times compared to filling up a combustion engine vehicle.

Distributed in the Philippines by Emicor, Inc., an automotive services solutions provider for over 50 years, Tritium is the newest brand to join their portfolio. A U.S.-based company with a global presence, Tritium was founded in 2001 and is considered a pioneer in the field of EV charging and battery management.

The Tritium EV charger installed in SM City Baguio offers both CCS1/CCS2 and CHAdeMO connectors allowing it to accommodate a wide range of BEVs from Asian, European, and American makes.

The modular power unit design (MSC or Modular Scalable Charging) means it is sealed with an IP65 rating—meaning it can be used in both indoor and outdoor environments. The liquid-cooled system means it can be used in extreme temperatures ranging from -35°C to +50°C (-31°F to +122°F). Operable by a single person, it can also be serviced (or even changed) easily in the field for faster maintenance and improved uptime.

Its compact footprint and easy-to-install design also mean it can retrofitted to existing parking structures, perfect for establishments such as retail and hospitality and car dealerships looking to capitalize on wider acceptance of EVs.

Aside from the Tritium RTM 75kW DC Fast Charger, Emicor, Inc., also offers various other EV charging solutions in both DC (for commercial establishments) and AC (for residential and condominium) formats.
