It's Official: Toyota Motor PH To Launch All-New Wigo On July 14; Prices Start At P609K

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) confirms that it will launch the all-new Toyota Wigo this July, with retail sales starting on the 17th of the month.

The leading mobility company continues to pursue steps to achieve its goal of “producing happiness and creating mobility for all” through its best-selling entry hatchback in its new and improved form.

The all-new Wigo showcases a bolder exterior and more spacious interior for a stylish and comfortable ride.

“Since it was launched in the Philippines, the Wigo has received a lot of love from Filipinos, so we are very happy to introduce the all-new Toyota Wigo, which features a new look and improved performance,” shared TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Danny Cruz.

TMP will be unveiling the all-new Wigo to the public on July 14 at the Trinoma Activity Center. The mall display will continue until July 16 where TMP will feature all variants of the All-New Wigo in their different color offerings.

The all-new Wigo will be available in three variants – the top-of-the-line G CVT, priced at P 729,000, the E CVT, priced at P 684,000 and the J MT, priced at P 609,000.

Toyota Motor Philippines has yet to reveal the full specifications, but based on the teaser photo, the top-of-the-line G CVT will have LED headlights and vertically-oriented LED daytime running lights as standard. Power is said to come from a carryover 1.0-liter 3-cylinder normally aspirated engine with 67 horsepower and 91 Nm of torque.

It is also built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) like the Raize and Avanza. The all-new Wigo offers larger dimensions for a larger cargo space than its predecessor (passenger tandem distance, at 910 mm is the same as before) . Measuring at 3,760 mm in length, 1,665 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height (wheelbase is at 2,525 mm)—it’s 100 mm longer and 65 mm wider than the current Wigo (wheelbase is up by 70 mm). Ground clearance, meanwhile is set at 150 mm.

The Wigo has been revealed already in Indonesia as well as in Malaysia where it is known as the Perodua Axia.

  2. Does paddle shifters work same way in Toyota and Mitsubishi vehicles? They allow upshift and downshift when its in the safe rpm terms to do so. And will not show 3rd gear when vehicle is only on 2nd.
