The MG4 XPower Is The Most Powerful Production MG Vehicle Ever

You are looking at the most powerful production MG ever, and it happens to be an all-electric crossover. Meet the 2024 MG4 XPower.

Using the MG4 EV crossover as its base, the MG4 XPower gains a dual-motor setup. The front already delivers 204 horsepower, while the rear adds another 231 horsepower. Combined, the outputs rise to 435 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. This slashes the 0 to 100 km/h time to 3.8 seconds.

Helping put all that power to the pavement, the MG4 XPower has what the brand calls, Dynamic Cornering Control System. Available for the first time on an MG, it gives four-wheel torque vectoring and an electronic locking differential. Furthermore, the suspension stiffness has been raised 25 percent contributing to sharper handling. Stopping power from 100 km/h to zero is done in just 33.9 meters thanks to 345-mm ventilated disc brakes.

With the MG brand changing hands in the Philippines from current distributor The Covenant Car Company, Inc. to a national sales office setup under SAIC Motor Philippines (SMP), could the brand’s new custodians bring this in? Officially, it’s not yet known, but SMP has filed the necessary permits to sell not just internal combustion powered offerings, but battery electric ones as well.
