Milestone Achieved: Foton Turnsover 1,000th Truck Unit To J&T Express

Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) celebrated the 1,000th unit delivered to one of the leading logistics companies in Southeast Asia, J&T Express. Under the leadership of Philippine Global Jet Express, Inc., J&T Express is helping bring about a remarkable stimulus in transport mobility that should further boost the nation’s economy. The strengthened fleet is expected to bring faster and more efficient services to Filipino businesses and consumers alike.

The historic turnover was held at the Foton Motor Philippines plant in Clark, Pampanga and was attended by FMPI Chairman Rommel Sytin, FMPI General Manager Levy Santos, J&T Express CEO Dean Ding, J&T Express Vice President Zoe Chi, and Foton International Light Duty Trucks Country Manager Alex Lee.

“It all began almost five years ago when both of our companies partnered together to provide stronger and more efficient logistics mobility services to adapt to the fast-growing demands of the Filipino consumers and the booming success of e-commerce,” says Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) Chairman, Rommel Sytin.

Kickstarted with an initial turnover of Foton Tornado 2E E4 F-Vans back in 2019, J&T Express has developed its trust and confidence in Foton, leading to more and closer collaborations and further solidifying the partnership. Going through various challenges brought about by the pandemic, both companies have successfully hurdled multiple obstacles to achieve triumph after triumph in a post-pandemic time.

“As one of our trusted partners, we are proud to share this milestone with Foton. This will strengthen our logistics and mobility in the country and help J&T reach more destinations in the Philippines—delivering more quality service, smiles, and joy to Filipinos,” said Vice President of J&T Express Philippines, Zoe Chi.

J&T Express has since acquired several more fleets of Foton commercial vehicles ranging from the Harabas Series (Light Commercial Vehicle) to Light Duty Trucks (LDT), up to the Heavy Duty Trucks (HDT). Many of these units are Tornado M4.2C under the LDT category.

The Foton Tornado M4.2C has empowered businesses from big corporations to small and medium businesses. Powered by an internationally recognized 3.8L ISF Cummins engine, it produces a maximum power output of 154 horsepower at 2,600 rpm and 500 Nm of torque from 1,200 to 1900 rpm—offering power and dependability to efficiently deliver products across the archipelago.

“Besides providing customers with high-quality products, Foton puts high importance on aftersales as well, especially timely service and parts availability. For service, we offer EC Mobile onsite service, fleet checkback, authorized repair centers; and for parts, we are building the Cebu parts center to cover Visayas parts supply needs in addition to our current functioning Davao hub covering Mindanao areas. We also do consignment of our parts to J&T’s covered regions—all these programs to ensure our customers are provided with the “Total Care” experience and to make sure our clients, our partners, are satisfied,” said Foton International Light Duty Trucks Country Manager Alex Lee.

“This milestone marks a significant partnership between two industry giants, Foton and J&T Express. It reflects the strength of collaboration, the pursuit of excellence, and the commitment to serving our customers with the utmost dedication. Together, we have traversed many roads, overcome challenges, and strengthened the foundations of logistics and transportation in our country,” said FMPI General Manager Levy Santos.

With a passionate commitment to reliability and innovation, Foton offers game-changing programs to continuously improve its after-sales service that comes with a wide selection of benefits from performance, convenience, safety, technology, and even affordability.

Foton Motor Philippines currently has dealerships strategically located at different points of the country, equipped and ready to provide necessary services to every customer.
