Reservations for the BYD Tang DM-i—the newest plug-in hybrid Super DM-i flagship—are now open and the stage is set for its official launch on September 17. Customers can now contact their nearest BYD dealership or leave their details here to get first dibs on this newest model from BYD.
As BYD’s biggest SUV model to date, it’s built to give Filipino families the freedom to go farther, drive smarter, and move with confidence every day.
As proof, BYD Cars Philippines says that the Tang DM-i can travel up to 110 kilometers in pure electric (EV) mode and an impressive 1,160 kilometers with a full tank of gas. This dual capability ensures efficiency for everyday use while offering the confidence and convenience required for long-distance travel, meeting the evolving needs of Filipino drivers.
“With the introduction of the new BYD Tang DM-i, we are expanding our Super DM-i lineup to address the diverse needs of Filipino families,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines.
“As the largest model in the range, the Tang DM-i delivers the space, versatility, and advanced technology that many customers look for in an SUV, while reinforcing our commitment to make electric mobility more accessible,” said Adam Hu, BYD Philippines Country Head.
The full details on specifications and pricing will be unveiled at the official launch on September 17. Check out their official teaser site.

Byd Tang MPV DM i vs chery tiggo SUV REV at 1.648M
ReplyDeleteIf the price is around 1.8-1.9M, pwede na. Pero Chery Tiggo ReV value for money is something to consider.
DeleteChery tiggo ReV is one of the best quality seven seater suv here, so will be if Byd Tang mpv DMi if it price is good.
DeleteThe 2 comments above on the price point of both the Tiggo REV vs. the BYD Tang DM-I is spot on. BYD hast to price the Tang DM-I competitively against the REV, and pricing more than P120K above the REV is to my belief quite risky.
DeleteYes, the Tang DM-I has better Curb Appeal but is BYD sure that the prospective buyer is willing to ante up more than a P120K for that including a few other features.
Also, the 2024 Tang EV had an uncomfortably high rear seat floor height. I'm only 5'8" and my knees were unusually high even with all the available rear legroom of the Tang EV.
If the Tang DM-I has the same unusually high floor height that could be a deal breaker for many buyers expecting a comfortable rear seat even if the Tang DM-I is priced at P1.78M or below.
My own SL6 has a more comfortable seating position than the 2024 Tang EV in the BYD BGC Showroom.
Should be priced below 2M
ReplyDeleteI don't think so.
DeleteThey realized that EV demand is quite low, most of the BYD sales are now from PHEV and this wont change unless the infrastructure improves
ReplyDeleteWhile I agree that PHEVs are a better proposition given the infrastructure, a recent article here (based on new LTO registrations) showed that BEVs had almost equal demand to HEVs for 2025. So not as low as you might think.
ReplyDeleteReuters news: Byd profit fall 30% and the 2025 target sales of 5.5m units were slashed to 4.6m.
ReplyDeleteThat's quarterly profits down almost entirely from their sales in China. This is relevant to us how? Perhaps leave the reporting of such news to the Filipino journalists who can contextualize the story if it's at all relevant to our market, eh?
DeleteWhat is relevant is that we don't get discounts that the Chinese get. Our seagull is double the price of china
ReplyDeleteThat's because pricing is based on the market demand. Because we still gladly pay for expensive old car models so Chinese cars are priced lower here but not rock bottom presyo. Unlike sa market ng China, kahit bagsak presyo dun (kahit anong brand) hirap parin sila mag benta dahil hindi big spenders tlga ang mga tao dun (akala ko stereotype lng sa mga Chinese pero totoo pala - you can find the studies that show this).
DeleteWhy give customers a discount if overpriced nmn ang competition mo dito? You're giving up free money if you are the car company.
The above comment of 08 Sept. 11:48am on Chinese car pricing could not have been explained much better. I guess this commenter runs a business, has set up businesses, and or fully understands Market Forces/Conditions.
DeleteIt's rare I encounter very intelligent and insightful comments like that of the this person.
Bravo!
