Toyota doesn’t forget. After promising to bring in their very own line of battery electric vehicles last February, the carmaker just received an LTO homologation approval for its first-ever battery electric vehicle: the bZ4X.
Appearing in the LTO paperwork, the bZ4X is stated to have an overall length of 4,690 mm, width of 1,860 mm, and a height of 1,650 mm. Its wheelbase is listed at 2,850 mm. Ground clearance is at 200 mm. Curb weight is listed at 2,110 kilograms, while its net capacity is listed at 475 kilograms.
Some notable exterior features include a two-tone exterior color and 235/50R20 wheels and tires.
More than just its dimensions, the Toyota BEV is listed to have all-wheel drive courtesy of a 167 kW (227 horsepower) and 88.3 kW (120 horsepower) rear motor. Maximum cruising range is set at a modest 456 kilometers, while top speed is listed at 160 km/h.
That’s the end of the official details as of now, but if this is the same as the refreshed bZ4X, it’ll have a combined 343 horsepower (252 kW)—making it one of the most powerful production Toyotas outside of the GR range on offer. This means a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 5.1 seconds.
Coupled with that added performance is a large 73.1-kWh (net) battery which now integrates battery pre-conditioning. By pre-conditioning the battery, an optimal temperature for charging can be ensured, allowing for higher charging power. This function can be activated manually or automatically by navigating to a fast-charging station.
Refreshed early this year, the bZ4X has a sleeker, more elegant look with improved aerodynamics. The interior has been completely updated and comes with a new center console for easy use of digital devices and a new instrument panel design with a 14-inch multimedia screen fitted.
Once launched in the Philippines, the bZ4X will likely do battle with the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the Kia EV6 in terms of price and positioning.

made in China.
ReplyDeleteyou are correct made in china ..with japanese marking
DeleteBye bye BYD BEV, the king has arrived.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be beaten easily by the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach E 🤣
DeleteBYD Seal and Han Sedan are only available by indent orders only
More like, the king of cringe comments has arrived. lol
DeleteMost likely priced like a Ford Mustang Mach E and Hyundai Ioniq 5
ReplyDeleteIf they do that, patay and Toyota. Their product isn’t that wow
DeleteToyota better not expect EV sales like BYD
ReplyDeleteToyota beefing up lineup to catch up with the china cars..
ReplyDeleteComparison is between white and black.
DeleteLet's see how this is priced compared to Teslas in PH.
ReplyDeleteThat’s correct!
DeleteFrom which country will the bZ4X be sourced from? Japan or China?
ReplyDeleteJapan
DeleteAre you sure? Indonesia is also building the bZ4X.
Delete@Anonymous October 25, 2025 8:27 pm:
DeleteNo, Toyota is not building the BZ4X in Indonesia. A quick Google search will inform you. All ASEAN market BZ4Xs are imported from Japan.
Model y competitor so maybe 2.3+ price?
ReplyDeleteMost likely priced near the EV6,Mustang Mach E and Ioniq 5
DeleteAh, Toyota's compliance car BEV. I wonder when or if Toyota will take the BEV segment seriously.
ReplyDeleteWhen they start openly talking about electrification roadmaps (like what Honda have done) then that's when you know they are taking it seriously. But the longer they take to do that the longer it will take them to have home-grown technology (because they are definitely not putting enough money towards it now). Until then, they will have to keep using other companies' tech (Suzuki E-Vitara=Toyota Urban Cruiser, BYD batteries, borrowed Lexus tech, etc.) which will cost them more over the long term.
DeleteIf the model is source from China the battery is made by BYD. Their is existing collaboration between BYD and Toyota with the former supplying the latter with batteries for all models made in China. Toyota has zero battery manufacturing capabilities. Reason why their BEVs are quite expensive
ReplyDeleteToyota is still hoping that their hydrogen bet will pay off. Meanwhile, we're seeing lots of news about battery tech improvements that will be in cars in a few years time only.
DeleteI wonder if Toyota will accommodate gray market imports. Cause I'm already seeing quite a number of bZ4X's on the roads
ReplyDeleteThey probably would (if they have done the needed training and have parts on hand) but you'd most likely have to pay for it as they might not honor any warranties since separately imported ang car.
DeleteAng ganda, panget n gusgusin na byd pag pinagtabi 😅😅😅
ReplyDeleteMade in collaboration with BYD, made in China.
ReplyDeleteNo, this particular bZ model was made in collaboration with Subaru. Some variants though I think may use BYD Batteries, but that's it....
Deleteremember. in china this sells for around 200k rmb.. thats around 1m php
ReplyDeleteAnd this is where you'll see that Toyota, just like Ayala with BYD, will not be proving us with Chinese market prices. So absolutely do not expect that kind of pricing. lol
Delete@Anonymous October 25, 2025 5:29 pm:
DeleteThat's because it became a victim of the EV price war in China. Worth mentioning that Toyota manufactures the BZ4X there through their JV with GAC and FAW that's why they can price it cheap there.
I have a strong feeling Toyota Ph will import units from Indonesia.
ReplyDeleteAddendum:
DeleteOops, I stand corrected. Toyota will indeed build the BZ4X in Indonesia. As per Google, Indonesia will be building the ASEAN market BZ4X.
Made in indonesia to be affordable to battle china EV's in ASEAN. Just liked how the yaris cross massacred its chinese competitors here.
DeleteHow do you pronounce it? Bees forks?
ReplyDeletemade with China's Rare Earth.
