Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has officially revealed the variants and pricing of its much-awaited Destinator 7-seater SUV prior to its November 20 local launch.
The Destinator will come in three variants—GLX, GLS, and GT for the Philippine market with the following prices:
- GLX Turbo CVT – P 1,389,000
- GLS Turbo CVT – P 1,599,000
- GT Turbo CVT – P 1,929,000
In addition, MMPC is extending a Launch Event Promo exclusively for customers who will place reservation during the 4-day launch event at Ayala Malls Manila Bay between November 20 to 23, 2025 and release their unit on or before January 31, 2026.
Qualified customers will receive an additional P 5,000 cash discount on top of the introductory price promo.
More details on the Destinator, including its full specs will be released on November 20.

DeleteThose introductory prices are really not bad, especially for the GT. The SRP of PHP1,929,000 seems to be quite a stretch for a vehicle of its kind, but it seems to be very worth it if its priced at PHP1,799,000. If we get completely specced units as Indonesia, the GT at introductory price is a good choice.

A 7 seater w 1.5 cvt , im sure underpower yn lalo na pah puno at paakyat , as in avanza, veloz, rush, brv, xpander, mga 1.5 engine for city driving only but for provincial trips n uphills sure bitin yn,should be 1.8 or 2.0

Much better pricing than its Xforce sibling! Looks like they've learned their lesson. This looks like a possible hit for Mitsubishi PH, maybe another "Xpander moment" for them.

This car (with 7 seats) on PH setting can weigh up to 1.85-tons fully loaded. With a CVT mated to 1.5L-turbo at 250 N-m torque, it could be concerning (for now) particularly during up hill. The transmission wont break right away but the possible wear and tear to the CVT-belts could shorten its life in prolonged and frequent application.
ReplyDeleteHere is hoping Mitsu has really tested this car in "real world setting", otherwise, Southeast Asian customers are the guinea pigs. Plan for now, is to make-do with the current reliable Mirage and will probably upgrade to this (or Xforce) in 3-4yrs, just in time for the mid-cycle "refresh".
Mitsubishi Motors already tested this Destinator multiple times in its pre-production prototype forms in Indonesia where there a lots of steep mountainous roads similar to the Philippines.
DeleteMitsubishi Motors Indonesia and Japan changed the intercooler components and placement of the 1.5 liter turbocharged engine of the Destinator to make it more reliable and elimate turbo lag of it.
CVT transmission of it is very reliable so don't worry about it unless your a DNGA Toyota and Honda fanatic who are spreading fear against this SUV.

DeleteThe water-cooled intercooler version of the 4B40 engine was actually first used in the latest generation Chinese market Mitsubishi Outlander (with a mild-hybrid powertrain) before Mitsubishi left China. Mitsubishi Indonesia simply took that powertrain without the mild hybrid for the Destinator.

People think 1.5 turbo with direct injection is cool. Been there done that. I would never touch a car that has a small DI engine with turbo ever again, kahit na honda 1.5 turbo pa yan… never! Stay away from small turbocharged vehicles if you want to drive a car that will last!
DeleteL15B of CR-V is purely GDI (direct injection) so it needs frequent intake cleaning like a diesel engine. But it has best performance out of the turbo engines! Power outputs of 190ps is still one of the best among 1.5 turbo engines.
DeleteFor the 4B40 used in the Destinator, it is dual injection (one injector for MPI and one injector for GDI) so it still has MPI that cleans the intake from carbon deposits. This is a similar setup to Toyota's D4S engines (Dynamic Force). Not as good power compared to Honda's L15 but you will not need to clean the intake as much.
Other engines, like Suzuki's dual-jet systems, use two port injectors (MPI) for each cylinder. While their boosterjet engines use direct injection (only one direct injector per cylinder).
Any issues with fuel dilution?
