What Engine Does the Nissan GT-R Use in Super GT?
Everyone knows that the R35 Nissan GT-R is synonymous with its mind-blowing 3.8-liter VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 engine. Generating 570 horsepower and 633 Nm of torque in its 2017 guise, it eats more expensive super cars for breakfast. And though this engine is powerful and durable enough for motorsports use, did you know that Nissan doesn’t use this engine for its Super GT effort, at least in the top-tier GT500 class?

First Drive: 2016 Nissan GT-R
The main problem with track events is that you’re given such limited seat time with any given vehicle that it doesn’t leave a lasting impression. The Nissan GT-R, as you probably guessed, is one big exception. My run with it was limited to just a handful of laps around the Gran Turismo-sounding Sodegaura Forest Raceway and a single hot lap with a professional NISMO race driver; yet it’s all that took to make me re-think if the laws of physics actually existed.

Nissan to Enter the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015 with GT-R LM Nismo
Nissan will unleash the GT-R and go head-to-head with Audi, Porsche and Toyota at Le Mans in 2015. The Japanese manufacturer will also contest the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship with a full factory effort of two LM P1 cars. Nissan’s LM P1 car will be called the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, carrying on a sporting bloodline that stretches back 30 years and recognizes the company’s flagship road car, the Nissan GT-R.
