The Good Stuff: Porsche World Road Show 2015

Photos by Ulysses Ang and Porsche Philippines Press
Porsche is a name now eponymous with style and speed. Throughout the decades, the dream makers in Stuttgart have come up with objects of desire. But for all the talk about their design and brevity, there’s one thing that ties all of them together: engineering. At the core of every 911, every Cayenne, every Panamera lies precision work making them feel like they’ve been cut from the same piece of cloth—a cloth dipped in both heritage and tradition, in ingenuity and cleverness.

Beyond the Limit: Porsche Tracks the 911 Turbo S and 911 GT3

Photos by Ulysses Ang and Porsche Press
On the moon. At the north pole. In the deepest jungle. There isn’t a place where someone hasn’t already been and opened up new territory, raised the flag, and written history. You can follow their example or leave your own tracks. For Porsche, the answer has always been obvious: it’s in the company DNA to take new routes which question what was once cast in stone. Where others give up, that’s where their engineers begin. The all-new 911 Turbo S and 911 GT3 are testaments to engineering a tradition, a tradition of leaving the beaten path.

Happy Birthday, Porsche 911!

Fifty years. Normally, that’s the time when age begins to take its toll; when the body doesn’t feel as lively, as agile, and as quick as it once was. However, the people at Porsche look at fifty very differently. Fifty makes one faster, stronger, and better than ever before; and judging by the iconic 911 sports car, Porsche seems to have discovered the fountain of youth.

"5 million reasons to celebrate!" – It was this slogan that got sportscar enthusiasts on the Internet involved in designing a unique Porsche 911 Carrera 4S model. The sportscar manufacturer based in Zuffenhausen, Germany, launched the campaign to show its appreciation for the five million "Likes" it has received from fans. Porsche is now running a competition on its Facebook page (facebook.com/porsche) until August 18 for the chance to win a drive in the one-of-a-kind 911 model at the Porsche Experience Center at Silverstone in the United Kingdom. Nine scale models of the vehicle are also available for the runners-up.

First Drive: 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S

There’s no shape more instantly recognizable than the silhouette of a Porsche 911. With its illustrious history going back to 1963, no other car has been the epitome of careful progress and evolution from the stables of Stuttgart in Germany. From tip to stern, the all-new 911 (internal designation 991) continues the legacy penned by Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche but modernized with cutting-edge technology.

The all-new 911 is one of the biggest development steps in the history of the model. Almost 90 percent of components have been redeveloped including an all-new platform, only the third since the original 911. The new 911 grows 100 millimeters between the wheels and some 55 millimeters in overall length, but with shorter overhangs (minus 32 millimeters in front and 12 millimeters at the back) and a lower roofline than the previous model. Yet despite the increase in size, because the 911 predominantly uses aluminum in its construction, the new car is up to 50 kilograms lighter than before.

Porsche Chooses Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2 for New 911

Goodyear Philippines just shared this bit of good news which talks about their newest high-performance tire, the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2 as well as an iconic sports car called the Porsche 911:

Press Release
Porsche Chooses Goodyear Asymmetric 2 for New 911

Goodyear announced recently that Porsche has chosen its award winning Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tire for the popular 19” wheel fitment on its Porsche 911 Carrera 2. That means that one of the world’s leading sportscars will be fitted with the 235/40 ZR 19 (front) and 285/35 ZR 19 (rear) Goodyear tires when first delivered to the customer. Goodyear’s Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 was recently awarded the top score by the UK’s Auto Express.

Tire choice is extremely important on cars like the 911. The Porsche has a rear engine configuration which offers outstanding traction, but requires the ability of the rear tires transfer the 350 break horsepower to the tarmac to ensure the full performance of the car.  Goodyear’s Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tire will meet this need thanks to its recognized solid performance and quality credentials.

Review: 1997 Porsche 911 Cabriolet

When we hear the word Porsche, three adjectives immediately spring to mind: air-cooled, rear-engined, and flat-six.  With the advent of the latest Porsche products, each of these trademark characteristics has come under assault.  Noise and emissions regulations have led to water-cooled engines, the Boxster has its engine in the middle of the chassis, and the upcoming Cayenne will be powered by a V8 engine.  Hey, the Cayenne is even an SUV, for crying out loud!  To those who might wonder what a Porsche truly is, to what the brand really stands for, they should go back in time, just a few years to the last of the “true” Porsches, the previous 911, codenamed 993.
