Ford Philippines April Sales Rise Nine Percent

Ford Philippines today reported April retail sales of 677 vehicles, an increase of nine percent over previous month. Strong demand for several Ford models, coupled with the continuing improvements to local supply contributed to the uptick in sales for the month.

The all-new Ford Fiesta led the April performance with sales of 265 units, increasing its year-to-date sales to 1,039 units. The Ford Escape SUV turned in a strong month with retail sales rising 33 percent from March to 149 units.

The all-new Ford Explorer 3.5L Limited continued to redefine the mid-size SUV segment with its strongest monthly sales this year of 73 units, with year-to-date deliveries now totaling 142 units.

“Our growing line-up of exciting and class-leading Ford vehicles continues to attract new customers across the Philippines,” said Randy Krieger, president, Ford Group Philippines. “We’re just about through the supply issues that have affected us since the start of the year, and are gearing up for an exceptionally strong performance during the second half of the year.”

Ford expects its momentum to increase significantly in the coming months with the official launches of the all-new Ford Explorer 2.0L GTDi with EcoBoost, all-new Ford Focus and iconic Ford Mustang sports car.

Additionally, Ford began taking customer orders of the class-defining all-new Ranger pickup at the Manila International Auto Show in March, with customer bookings exceeding 300 units in the first month. Ford will begin delivering the all-new Ranger to customers in July.

“The immediate strength in demand for the all-new Ranger reaffirms our confidence that it will redefine the compact pickup truck experience in the Philippines.”

“We’re also excited about continuing the expansion of our One Ford lineup with the addition of the all-new Focus, Mustang and all-new Explorer GTDi with EcoBoost, as these segment-leading vehicles are already generating a tremendous amount of customer interest,” added Krieger.
