Ford Posts Best-Ever Monthly Sales in Philippines

Ford Philippines today reported that October represented its all-time best monthly performance, with strong demand across all nameplates driving overall retail sales up by 50 percent year-over-year to 1,248 units.

The record month was given a significant boost by the best-ever month for the Ford Ranger pickup, as the class-defining all-new Ranger delivered sales that jumped 213 percent from the previous generation truck last year to 282 units.

Also in October, the Ford Everest posted its strongest monthly sales of the year with 311 units, as the versatile, family SUV continued its popular run in the Philippines.

The class-leading Ford Fiesta turned in another strong performance with sales rising 26 percent from a year ago to 307 units, while sales for the Escape increased 67 percent to 142 units.

With dealerships across the Philippines now featuring the widest lineup of Ford vehicles ever in the Philippines, an increasing number of consumers are connecting the Ford brand with their lives and diversity of lifestyles.

“Customer response to our newly launched One Ford vehicles has been exceptional. Segment leading vehicles like the all-new Ranger, the technology packed all-new Focus, the all-new Explorer with EcoBoost, and the iconic Ford Mustang, are really helping widen the appeal of the Ford brand to so many new-to-Ford customers,” said Randy Krieger, president, Ford Philippines.

Ford’s sales momentum grew in recent months with the availability of four newly launched vehicles including the all-new Ranger, all-new Explorer with EcoBoost, all-new Focus and the Ford Mustang sports car.

“Our record performance in October is further evidence that Ford continues to deliver vehicles that our customers want and value – and just as importantly to them – that are affordable,” added Krieger.

The iconic Ford Mustang has proved enormously popular since deliveries began in September and registered 45 units in its second retail month.

Sales of the all-new Focus increased 22 percent month-over-month to 62 units in October.

Ford’s exciting and interactive “All-New Focus - Start it. Share it. Win it.” campaign will culminate on November 12, when the winner will be announced and drive away in an all-new Ford Focus Titanium+.

The popular campaign allowed consumers to experience two of the all-new Focus’ first-in-segment smart technologies – Active Park Assist and Active City Stop – with real-life ‘smart demos’ at locations across Metro Manila.

“The all-new Focus has reshaped what class-leading means in the compact car segment, and customers clearly appreciate the incredible value this car represents and delivers,” said Minnie Valencia, vice president, marketing and sales.

Ford also celebrated the opening of Ford Cainta in October, the first of 12 new authorized dealerships opening over the next six months to support the company’s aggressive growth plan in the Philippines.
