UPDATED: Calling Participants for the Subaru Impreza Challenge 2013!

Subaru Impreza Challenge Philippine Leg 2013 is wider and more intense for this year as it will be held at 4 different locations:
  • August 10 2013 - Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu City
  • August 17 2013 - Abreeza Mall, Davao City
  • August 24 2013 - Marquee Mall, Pampanga
  • September 7 2013 - Bonifacio High Street, Activity Area, Bonifacio Global City
  • September 14 2013 - Marquee Mall, Pampanga
UPDATE: Due to the monsoon rains the past few days, Motor Image has officially moved the Pampanga leg of the Subaru Impreza Challenge from August 24 to September 14. See their official statement:

"Motor Image Pilipinas Inc. (MIPI), the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, in cooperation with its local dealer for Pampanga, Autosales and Aftersales Corporation, has decided to move the upcoming Subaru Impreza Challenge Philippine Leg in Pampanga from August 24, 2013 to September 14, 2013 at the Ayala Marquee Mall Activity Center, Pampanga. This is in light of the severe monsoon rains that have caused flooding in major parts of Metro Manila and neighboring provinces. This will allow families and residents in Pampanga, that were gravely affected by this recent calamity, to recover.

The Subaru Impreza Challenge Philippine Leg in Manila will still be held on its scheduled date, September 7, 2013, at the Bonifacio High Street Activity Area."

For our Pampanga challengers who have already submitted their application forms, please take note of the new date, September 14, 2013, and please keep posted on the latest updates on our I LOVE SUBARU Facebook page or visit the Motor Image Pilipinas website at www.motorimage.net/PH
This is the first time to have the Subaru Impreza Challenge in 4 different venues. The event concept derives from an endurance contest which was first held in Singapore in 2002 with only 3 cars were used with 120 contestants. Over the years it has grown into a 10-car event with 400 contestants. Last year the winner, 48-year old Tholmas Gan Yu Shen of Singapore, lasted for 78 hours and 30 minutes to reign supreme over 399 other challengers from Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia  and took home the grand prize. This contest has become an annual event that contestants look forward to.

For the Philippine legs at 4 different locations, hundreds of participants are expected to join in Cebu, Davao, Pampanga and Manila. One winner each from Cebu, Davao, and Pampanga will join the seven winners from Manila to compete for the Top 10 challengers, who will represent the Philippines to fly to Singapore on an all-expenses paid trip to compete in the Singapore finals. They will join other finalist from nine Asian countries and Singapore contestants to battle it out for the grand prize, a brand new Subaru car (a Subaru Impreza 2.0i M/T worth Php1,158 million - if the winner is from the Philippines).

Contestants also have the chance to win cash prizes for being Country Winner (awarded to the last person standing from each country), Asian Winner (the last person standing from all regional countries except Singapore) and a Country Team prize for the longest surviving country (calculated by adding all the individual team members timings together).

Interested participants must be at least 18 years old as of January 1, 2013, a Filipino passport holder and in good health condition. The registration for the Subaru Impreza Challenge is now open at the Subaru Showroom Cebu, Subaru Showroom Davao, Subaru Showroom Pampanga, Subaru Greenhills Showroom at EDSA, the Subaru Showroom at Global City and Subaru Showroom Alabang.  For more details on the event, interested participants can download the application form at www.motorimage.net/PH and I Love Subaru Facebook fan page: www.facebook.com/ILOVESUBARU or call the Motor Image office at +63-2-727-8333 or +63-2-727-3687 for more information.
