Foton Philippines Continues CSR with Donation to Alagang Kapatid Foundation

United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of Foton vehicles in the Philippines, continued its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by donating a customized responder truck last July to Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI), the social development of TV5.

Affiliated to one of the country’s leading commercial media networks headed by Manny V. Pangilinan, AKFI’s mission is to provide responsible, people-oriented, and environment-friendly response to indigent and disaster-affected communities. AKFI needed a vehicle that could assist their team during their charity works in various locations in the country.

This is when UAAGI provided AFKI a customized Foton Tornado C 3.5 Truck which can be used in the foundation’s disaster response, rehabilitation, and recovery programs.

First, this Foton Tornado C 3.5 has been converted into a mobile airconditioned clinic with a clinic bed, spine board, oxygen tank, and first-aid kit. At the same time, it can also serve as a mobile kitchen since the truck is also equipped with kitchen tools and accessories, aluminum counter tops with cabinets, double burner stove, sink, LPG tanks, and water tanks. Finally, it’s also an emergency response vehicle that can accommodate emergency survival supplies and safety gear.

Foton Philippines Executive Vice President Anna Maria Parado exclaimed: “We would like to thank TV5 and Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. for allowing us to help them innovate their mobility and eventually, achieve their purpose for our community development. We are hoping that they continue to bring assistance and hope to our fellow Filipinos in need.”

“This vehicle will definitely go a long way in making it more possible for AKFI to bring immediate help to more beneficiaries not only within Metro Manila but also in far flung areas, mostly unreachable by other organizations.” said Silvestre. “Because of the FOTON Alagang Kapatid truck, our team is now more inspired to touch more lives,” she concluded.
