Ford Philippines, Gawad Kalinga Open Two New Water Facilities in Nueva Ecija

Ford Philippines, together with Gawad Kalinga and Ford Cabanatuan under the Laus Auto Group, recently opened two (2) new communal water facilities in Nueva Ecija as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to help build a better world.

Eighty (80) families or over 480 individuals in the 2 Gawad Kalinga villages in Jaen and Gapan in Nueva Ecija will benefit from the completion of the water facilities. The communal water facility will provide for a safe and clean water source to give families access to potable water which they can also use for their daily household chores.

“We are happy to complete the construction of the water facilities with the concerted effort and commitment of our partners and dealer employee volunteers,” said Josie Gonzalez, AVP for government and corporate affairs, Ford Philippines. “We look forward to expanding the reach of this program to benefit more families and communities as our way of giving back.”

Building a communal water system in GK communities was conceived when Ford Fund through Global Giving made available mini-grants for projects that will promote volunteerism during Ford’s Global Month of Caring.

The mini-grant has continued to support the communal water project launched yearly in time with the Ford Global Month of Caring every September supported by Ford employees, Ford dealer employees, GK residents and local students as volunteers for the facility build. It has been a great concerted effort across all stakeholders towards a shared vision of sustaining communities through clean water supply.
