Porsche Announces Recall for Panamera

Porsche says that certain current-generation Panamera vehicles need to be brought into workshops to re-program its electric power steering system.

The recall affects Panamera models produced between March 21, 2016 and December 6, 2018 amounting 74,585 vehicles globally, including models sold in the Philippines.

A software error means that there is a possibility that the electric power steering will occasionally be unavailable for a limited period. If this happens, increased force is then required for steering. To avoid this, the associated control unit needs to be re-programmed with an updated data record as a precautionary measure.

Porsche says it has begun contacting customers affected by the recall. The re-program just takes an hour and is free of charge for customers.
