Most Convenient Place To Get Autosweep, Easytrip RFID To Close September 1

Heads up, motorists. Just a few days before the dry run of the cashless system (aka purely RFID) system on major expressways, one of the most convenient places to get both the Easytrip and Autosweep system is set to close.

The Shell Magallanes management has announced that they will discontinue RFID stickering for both Autosweep and Easytrip systems starting on Friday, September 1 in a bid to “streamline and enhance [the] experience when visiting Shell Magallanes” as well as to “provide a more efficient and convenient service for all customers.”

The decision by Shell Magallanes to remove RFID stickering at the station shouldn’t come as a surprise, especially to regulars who often visit the service station. The stickering kiosks have become a common cause of traffic and congestion in the area. Vehicles often occupy what little parking spaces the station has; regularly spilling over to the streets adjacent to the station much to the irk of Magallanes Village.

With the close of the Shell Magallanes as a stickering station, motorists will now have to queue up at two different locations just to get an Autosweep and Easytrip RFID.

For reference, here’s the most up-to-date stickering venue for both the RFID systems:

  3. Malls would be one of most convenient places to get these RFID stickers installed. SM Manila have a big kiosk near one of their upper parking levels. No idea though if it's still operating.
