BYD Believes In Its ADAS So Much, They Will Cover Any Damage Caused By It

BYD is putting its money where its mouth is by being the first carmaker in the world to offer full damage coverage for its God’s Eye autonomous driving technology. The announcement, specifically for the Chinese market, was made at the company’s “Intelligence Strategy” launch event.

With this announcement, BYD has now become the world’s first automaker to fully cover any damages caused by its God’s Eye ADAS in an urban setting. The one-year guarantee applies to new buyers and even existing BYD owners who upgrade to God’s Eye 5.0. The policy states that if a legally-liable accident occurs while a user is operating the Urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) function in compliance with regulations, BYD will directly cover all resulting damages and economic losses.

The confidence to make this possible is based on three things. The first is its massive scale. With a fleet of over 3.15 million vehicles on the road equipped with God’s Eye—the largest among Chinese automakers—it provides a foundation of real-world data for continuous optimization. The second is the abundant data generated by the God’s Eye. With over 193 million kilometers logged daily, it ensures rapid algorithmic learning and improvement. Finally, the third pillar is a dedicated R&D team of 5,000 engineers, the largest in China’s automotive industry, powering the company’s sustained technological innovation.

The news comes as BYD’s God’s Eye system receives four major upgrades for its home market. These include a new architecture (Xuanji Architecture 2.0), an industry‑first satellite-based sensor system, an upgraded physical AI large model, and a self‑evolving data set built on real‑world scenarios and data.

In the cockpit, BYD introduced the DiLink AI Intelligent Cockpit. This “hyper‑realistic” digital assistant offers proactive task execution and deep reasoning capabilities, delivering an all scenario, continuously evolving in-car experience.

A new self-developed 4nm chipset, Xuanji A3, was also unveiled by BYD. It natively supports Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving. In a three-chip configuration, it can deliver over 2,100 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of computing power per vehicle—double the computer power compared to the competition.

In the future, BYD is also envisioning an era of “Intelligent Driving” where its ADAS serves as a “Super Driver” along with an AI that becomes a “Super Personal Assistant.” To realize this vision, the company will continue to invest over RMB 100 billion (P 910 billion) in Intelligent Driving Assistance R&D.
