Toyota is Now Raffling Off FJ Cruisers

2018 Isuzu mu-X 3.0 Blue Power vs 2018 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 TRD
It is given: mid-sized 7-seater SUVs is now this generation’s family car. Aside from a seating configuration that allows the entire caboodle to hit the shopping mall in style, they’re tall (flood-proof), durable, and most importantly, powered by a frugal (ish) diesel engine. Naturally, not one SUV could have everything. This suddenly puts into focus the buyer’s priorities: does he want something practical, but dull or is he will to sacrifice a bit of that practicality for a dash of sportiness?

This is Why Toyota Motor Philippines Increased the Prices of the 2017 Fortuner (w/ Brochure)
Several readers have pointed out that Toyota Motor Philippines has increased the price of their Fortuner considerably (as much as P 100,000) during the past few months. Though Toyota dealers have been giving a variety of reasons from the impending increase in new vehicle excise tax to even the weakening of the Peso versus the US Dollar, we have reached out to Toyota Motor Philippines for a definitive answer. The real reason, it seems, is an increase in equipment level.

With Toyota Motor Philippines serving as the country’s official distributor of TRD parts, it’s only appropriate that they give their best-selling Fortuner and Hilux the full-on racy treatment. Review: 2016 Toyota Fortuner 2.8 V
Normally, when a carmaker launches an all-new product, it opens not just a chapter in that vehicle’s history, but an entirely new volume. That said, Toyota didn’t get the memo with the all-new Fortuner. Granted it looks sleeker and much more sophisticated than ever before, it adheres too closely to the concept of kaizen or continuous improvement. It ends up telling pretty much the same story, remixed and retold.

First Drive: 2016 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 V and 2.4 G 4x2
There are people who’re blindly loyal to the Toyota Fortuner and there are those who’ll end up buying one anyway. Such is the power of Toyota’s Pickup-based Passenger Vehicle or PPV since its market introduction in 2005. It has revolutionized the industry, offering an American-style 7-seater mid-sized SUV for the price of a compact crossover. And though some of its competitors offered a good fight, the Fortuner remained the top choice whether or not it was considered matagtag (stiff riding) or not. Now that a second generation model is upon is, is the 2016 Fortuner all that you wanted? More importantly, is it still matagtag?
