Ford Posts Best-Ever October and Strongest Month of the Year

Ford Philippines’ sales momentum is showing no signs of slowing, as the company today reported its best-ever October sales and strongest month of the year with overall retail sales of 1,286 units.

The exceptional month was fueled by strong demand for the recently launched new Ford Fiesta, as well as the all-new Ranger and all-new Focus nameplates.

“The continued introduction of global Ford vehicles with segment -leadership is helping further drive the widening appeal of our brand in the market and supporting terrific sales momentum this year,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.

In its second month of availability, the sporty new Fiesta delivered retail sales of 291 units. The new Fiesta helps to redefine the small car segment with its exciting new bold design, segment-

leading fuel economy, class-leading safety features and smart technologies, including Ford SYNC®.

Available in eight variants in the Philippines, including 5 -door hatchback and 4-door sedan models, the new Fiesta features Ford’s global 1.5L Ti-VCT engine. Ford is further expanding its Fiesta lineup today with the launch of its 1.0L EcoBoost engine at the 2013 Auto Focus Motor Show in Manila.

“Customers really love the Fiesta, and we can’t wait to bring them even more choice with the introduction of the 1.0L EcoBoost engine,” explained Hart.

The all-new Ranger delivered its all-time best monthly performance in the Philippines, with October sales rising 73 percent year-over-year to 488 units. Still the company’s best-selling nameplate in October, year-to-date sales of the all-new Ranger have now jumped more than five-fold to 3,700 units.

“Strong demand for both our automatic and manual transmissions across the country is helping push fantastic sales for the class-defining Ranger pickup,” said Hart.

October sales of the all-new Focus rose 76 percent from a year ago to 109 units, as consumers continue to appreciate its class-leading technology and safety features, including Active Park Assist, Active City Stop and Blind Spot Information System. Year-to-date sales have now increased 81 percent to 896 units.

Ford’s SUV lineup also contributed to the record October performance. The popular Ford Everest delivered retail sales of 280 units, helping year -to-date sales climb 60 percent from a year ago to 2,295 units.

The all-new Ford Explorer achieved sales of 95 units in October, bringing year -to-date sales of the class-defining SUV to 832 units, up 62 percent from a year ago.

The Ford Mustang sports car maintained its sales momentum in October with deliveries of 14 units, reaching year-to-date sales of 165 units.

Ford remains the fastest-growing automotive brand in the Philippines with sales increasing by 58 percent to 10,877 units compared to the same period a year ago.

“The exceptional enthusiasm and response of consumers to our full line -up of segment-leading global Ford vehicles is helping drive a record performance this year,” said Hart.

Demonstrating Ford’s commitment to driver and passenger safety in its vehicles, Ford Philippines hosted a successful ‘Caring for Tomorrow’ campaign in October, which provided an interactive platform for participants to experience the many safe and smart technologies and features of Ford vehicles.
