MINI Updates Countryman; Shows It in New York

The odd four-door MINI, the Countryman gets a slight makeover this year, showing off some new exterior and interior detailing which can escape the untrained eye.

From the outside, the 2014 MINI Countryman gets a new hexagonal insert in the front grille along with front and rear underriders which are standard on all-wheel drive models (ALL4) and optional for front-wheel drive models. New LED park lights and front fog lights add a new character to the MINI’s front-end. The changes are capped off with new, lighter alloy wheel designs and new colors. In addition, MINI has added more customization options.

Inside, the new MINI Countryman receives improved acoustic comfort and new dark dials for road speed and engine speed. The John Cooper Works version gets the JCW logo the instrumentation. New chrome applique on the air conditioning vents add a more premium touch. Sliding rear seats which can be folded in a 40/20/40 split give great cargo versatility. Some available luxury features in the Countryman include a panoramic sunroof and a Harman/Kardon sound system.

Under the hood, all MINI Countryman engines have been tweaked to achieve Euro 6 emission standards. The Countryman S also adds a bit of power bringing the total to 190 horsepower.
