Porsche Club Philippines Partakes Of Driving Delights Offered At Porsche Experience Tokyo

Nestled about an hour’s drive from vibrant downtown Tokyo is the Porsche Experience Center (PEC) Tokyo, a dynamic hub offering a range of facilities and driving programs designed to immerse guests in the world of Porsche. Recently, some members of Porsche Club Philippines, together with top officials of Porsche Philippines, participated in the activities offered at this must-visit destination for people passionate about Porsche’s high-performance models.

The facility, opened in October 2021, is the ninth PEC worldwide, following those in Leipzig, Silverstone, Atlanta, Le Mans, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hockenheimring and Franciacorta. Located in Kisarazu in the greater Tokyo area, PEC Tokyo boasts a footprint of 43 hectares, incorporated within which are a showroom for classic and contemporary Porsche sports cars, a lounge and cafƩ offering culinary delights and a selection of Porsche merchandise, and a workshop and museum showcasing classic Porsche models. Other attractions include driving simulators featuring famous Porsche cars on familiar racetracks around the world, and meeting and conference spaces.

At the heart of PEC Tokyo are its thrilling driving programs, which the Porsche contingent from the Philippines did not miss. These were conducted on several venues, including a 2.1-kilometer handling track that recreates famous corners like the Nurburgring’s “Carousel” and Laguna Seca’s “Corkscrew.”

Besides these, also available for guests to experience are a low-friction track, a tough off-road course, and the “Dynamic Area” where special programs like slalom driving, full braking, and launch control exercises are held. PEC Tokyo features a circular concrete “drift circle” as well.

The courses provide visitors with the chance to experience first-hand the exhilaration afforded by high-performance Porsche sports cars — 911, 718 Cayman and Boxster, Panamera, Macan, Cayenne and even the 100 percent electric Taycan. To ensure safety and maximum learning fun for participants, all driving exercises are supervised by professional Porsche driving instructors.

Significantly, the track at PEC Tokyo follows the natural topography of the venue, creating a completely unique driving experience amid the natural beauty of Kisarazu. Adding to this is that the PEC Tokyo’s main building is defined by a cut-glass design motif modeled after traditional Japanese craft. Its interior is decorated with elements evoking a Japanese garden.

Clearly, with its top-notch facilities and an array of driving programs, PEC Tokyo promises an unforgettable experience that combines knowledge, passion, and pure driving pleasure.
