New Car Sales Rebound Last September As Toyota Widens Gap At The Top


New car sales recover strongly last September, selling more than 40,240 units according to industry estimates and official CAMPI-TMA data. This makes it the third-highest monthly sales performance of the year. It is also a 17 percent increase versus August 2026. ICE sales rebounded 19 percent, while electrified vehicles (xEVs) jumped 14 percent (based on full available industry data).

Mitsubishi Rethinks PH Hybrid Plan Due To Uncertain Policies


One of the biggest automotive news stories locally for 2026 has been Mitsubishi’s master plan to invest in local hybrid vehicle manufacturing. BYD Cars Philippines has sold 28,399 units from January to August 2026. This eight-month performance represents a 99 percent year-on-year increase, and has already carried the brand past its full-year 2025 total (26,122 units) a full four months ahead of schedule.
