BMW Philippines Shows Off First-Ever 6 Series Gran Turismo, 2019 X4, and M2 Coupe (w/ Specs)

SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMCACDC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines shows the future of luxury with a showcase of its latest products led by the first-ever 6 Series Gran Turismo and the all-new X4.

“While the future of mobility will be automated, connected, and electric, it will continue to embrace thrilling experiences of Sheer Driving Pleasure. Fortunately for our customers, the future is present today,” said Spencer Yu, SMCACDC President. “At this year’s Philippine International Motor Show, we are excited to debut the first-ever BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo and the all-new BMW X4. Both are unique in their own way, but both offer enhanced driving dynamics, premium ambience in the interior, and notable exterior designs. We hope all visitors will take the chance to get up close with these models as well as the rest of the BMW Pavilion.”

2019 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo

Continuing where the 5 Series Gran Turismo left off, the first-ever 6 Series Gran Turismo blends the comfort of a luxury sedan with the alluring shape of a coupe. It brings sporting elegance and advanced equipment features with dynamism and efficiency.

Compared to the previous 5 Series Gran Turismo, the 6 Series Gran Turismo is longer and lower giving it stretched proportions. Overlaid on this is a strong, powerful presence with its long hood, low-slung silhouette, set-back positioning of the cabin, frameless windows, and an elongated window outline.

Inside, the larger proportions give it maximized legroom for five adults while the flatter roofline translates to better headroom. Despite its luxury sedan design, it still presents a driver-focused cabin with a focus on high-quality materials for a truly sophisticated, premium feel.

For the Philippine market, the 6 Series Gran Turismo is offered solely as the 630d Gran Turismo Luxury. With that, it features a 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo diesel engine making 265 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic, it translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

Price is pegged at P 8,790,000.

2019 BMW X4

Underscoring its individual character, the all-new X4 offers significantly enhanced driving dynamics, a standout exterior design, and a further refined cabin that highlights BMW’s “Sport Activity Coupe” design ethos.

An increase in length and wheelbase enables designers to give the X4 a stronger, eye-catching appearance. The lines are more precise with clean surfacing highlight the strong haunches. Inside, the driver-focused cabin has a low instrument panel and a slightly raised seating position that give an assuring driving experience. The seats have also been redesigned with better bolstering while knee pads on the center console add to the sense of sportiness.

Sharing the X3’s 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine, the X4 xDrive20d M Sport X delivers 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Power is routed through all four wheels using the M Sport Suspension with 19-inch M light alloy wheels at each corner.

Price for the 2019 X4 xDrive20d M Sport X is P 5,190,000.

2019 BMW M2 Coupe

While not exactly new, BMW Philippines also showed off the M2 Coupe. A compact high-performance coupe, the M2 harks back to the classic 2002 turbo with its outstanding dynamics, exceptional agility, and optimum car control.

The characteristic M design with its strong styling and driver-focused interior is backed up by its high-revving 3.0-liter inline-6 engine deploying 370 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque. Featuring an overboost function, torque goes up to 500 Nm in short bursts.

Price for the M2 Coupe is at P 5,590,000.
