Subaru Forester To Wilderness Off-Road Treatment

The early success of Subaru’s off-road-centric Wilderness brand has prompted the Japanese all-wheel drive specialist to fast track more models to get the rugged treatment. Coming soon, exclusively for the North American market (for now) is the Forester Wilderness.

Subaru hasn’t revealed much details surrounding the newest member of the Wilderness family, but if the Outback Wilderness is any indication, expect it to get a higher ground clearance courtesy of re-worked suspension bits as well as a re-tuned drivetrain, including an enhanced X-MODE system for better off-road driving capability.

Based on the single teaser photo (see above), it will also be offered in the Geyser Blue color along with likely aesthetic bits like new bumpers that will improve its approach and departure angles.

Whether Subaru will use this opportunity to launch the refreshed Forester is anyone’s guess, but it is expected to debut for the US market sometime later this year. Who know, it might make a surprise appearance alongside the all-new WRX which is slated for a New York International Auto Show debut on August 19.
