Changan Targets 3 Million Annual Sales By 2025

Changan is aiming to sell 3 million cars by 2025, and 4.5 million by 2030. The Chongqing-based automaker said that out of this number, they expect 30 percent of volume to be outside of China by 2030.

The target closely mirrors that of Geely which earlier revealed that they plan to hit 3.65 million units globally by 2025.

Changan’s chairman Zhu Huarong also said that 35 percent of its total sales will be New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) which will be composed of full-electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles by 2025, and 60 percent by 2030.

So far, in the first seven months of 2021, Changan has already sold more than 1 million vehicles—a 46.1 percent growth year-on-year.

In July alone, the Chinese brand exported 10,347 units. In China, the CS35 is the best-selling small Chinese SUV selling 6,755 units, while the CS75 sold 20,119 units—the 16th consecutive month the compact SUV was able to hit that mark.

Moving forward, Changan is partnering with Huawei to develop electric vehicles.

By 2025, the Chinese government expects that 20 percent of all vehicles sold there will be NEVs.
