Honda Teases 2022 Civic Si

While the 11th generation Honda Civic may look more grown up than before, the carmaker hasn’t forgotten the more performance-oriented variants. After showing off the hardcore Type R a few days ago, they’ve done the same with less-hardcore Civic Si.

Positioned between the regular Civic and Civic Type R, the all-new Civic Si was shown in racing trim as they prepare to take on the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

The teasers shown by Honda has a giant rear wing strapped to the Civic’s decklid as well as a chunky front splitter and two large vents on the hood. These will not likely appear in the production version, but given the minor changes to the other body work, this is our first good look at the production version.

What is sure though is that the 2022 Civic Si will arrive with a more powerful turbocharged 4-cylinder engine (upwards of 200 horsepower), a sport-tuned suspension, and a manual gearbox. It’s also likely to gain a slightly revised interior with bucket seats.

Dubbed the best handling, most fun-to-drive Civic Si ever, it is expected to be revealed later this month. Sadly, this version of the Civic looks to remain an exclusive for the North American market.
