After an extensive public preview and testing process, Omoda Jaecoo Philippines is ready to launch its first plug-in hybrid vehicle: the 2025 Jaecoo J7 SHS.
The Jaecoo J7 SHS will retail locally for P 1,449,000 undercutting its direct rival, the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i and matching the Changan Nevo Q05 iD.
The official launch is slated for August 15, however, pre-selling at all authorized Omoda Jaecoo dealerships is now open. In fact, Omoda Jaecoo Philippines is further sweetening the deal with a free 2-year Preventive Maintenance (PMS) package, portable charger, and wall-mounted charger. Upon delivery, customers will also receive an exclusive gift pack and the possibility of winning in a raffle for a trip to China. These pre-selling deals end on August 15.
The Jaecoo J7 SHS, as its model designation suggests, comes with the Super Hybrid System. The system bundles a 1.5-liter turbocharged motor with an electric motor. Combined, it makes a total of 342 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque (a fact that Omoda Jaecoo later reversed course on). 0 to 100 km/h is dispatched in 8.4 seconds.
The SHS allows for both electric-only drive in the city, and a gas-hybrid combination during long distance driving eliminating any range anxiety. With a full charge from its 18.3-kWh LFP battery it can go up to 106 kilometers in pure EV mode. And with a full tank of gas, it can go up to 1,488.8 kilometers—a figure independently certified by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP).
Among the standard features of the Jaecoo J7 SHS include 19-inch aero alloy wheels and a streamlined aesthetic highlighted by the flush door handles. Inside, it has ventilated power adjustable leather seats, dual zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 14.8-inch infotainment system with an 8-speaker Sony sound system, 50-watt wireless charger, ambient interior lighting, and a 360-degree camera system with under chassis view.
Rated 5-stars at the Euro NCAP, the Jaecoo J7 SHS also comes with a 18-function ADAS on top of 7 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control with hill hold control, and parking sensors front and rear.

China comrades offerings better specs cars at much lower prices than byd. Ayala byd plans of 77 dealerships not feasible anymore, after sales income could spread too thin.
ReplyDeleteYou underestimate the size of the Philippine market if that's what you think. Our local BYD dealership schedules regular PMS caravans to our neighboring province whose dealership is still under construction because of how many customers from there have already bought and are due for PMS. Remember that BYD is targeting the wider consumer market and is not priced at a premium so any decent sized city/town can bear the extra competition.
DeleteAlso please remember that, while there are many segments of customers in the market, there's no single segment of 'China-car only' buyers. Your China 'comrades' aren't operating in a bubble fighting over a limited pool of interested customers. People who bought a BYD, a Geely or other chinese car could have been a Ford, Mistubishi, etc. customer (as hard as that might be for some to believe).
ok china boy

DeleteYou going through really old comments to post a lame insult? lol
If there could be a Price War here among the Chinese Vehicle Manufacturers like the one that occurred in China, the Filipino consumer would be much benefitted!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I'd like/love that, that's very unlikely to happen here. The difference being is that Chinese buyers aren't big spenders. It might seem like it's playing to a stereotype but that's not a racist thing to say because data supports this. Because of that, Chinese automakers have to match the price/demand of their market. In the Philippines however, as long as we still happily pay a premium for stuff like Japanese cars then the Chinese companies have no real reason to drastically drop their prices.
DeleteYes I agree with you that a Price War between Chinese vehicle brands is unlikely to happen here and that's the reason I started with "If there could . . . . . ".
DeleteHowever sometime in early 2024 I had a prayer "If only BYD made an HEV or PHEV and priced it inexpensively, I'd give BYD a try".
Well, in 6 or so months BYD came out with their 1st (not 100% on this) PHEV Crossover, and priced it at P1.548M. Then came the Seal 5 DM-I and lately the Sealion 5 DM-I (both of which I consider to be overpriced relative to the SL6's features & size).
My next (as am not ready to go full EV) wish is for a BYD Tang L DM-I AWD, 5+2 Seater, 26-34 Kw LFP Battery, at least 200mm Ground Clearance & 0-100Km/hr. in under 7 seconds & priced at or below P2.2M (got word that Tang DM-I to be introduced soon will be priced at P2+M).
Been praying for sometime on the above.
Prayer granted😇😇😇
DeleteHmm, 347Hp & 525Nm of torque with a 0-100Km/h time of 8.4 seconds? There's something way wrong in the math here relative to the outputs of other vehicles like the the SL6!
ReplyDeleteJaecoo is one of the 12 or so brands owned by Chery.
.
Jaecoo and Omoda is distributed by Chery International here in Ph, while the Chery brand is by UAAGI. O&J Management sucks like Geely International who distributes the Geely now. hence the wrong information aka fake news.
DeleteDo not attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity. The hard switch of topic to trash on Geely seems like an agenda. Do not be what you are claiming to fight against.
DeleteWhere to buy this car though? Havent seen any Jaecoo dealership.
ReplyDeletethere's currently three in the Metro: Manila, Pasig, and Alabang. Most likely shared with Omoda
Deleteomoda Jaecoo Alabang
DeleteI like how the section, 'Measurements & Weights' doesn't have any weight included 🤷♂️
ReplyDeleteWell, that's the only info provided by Omoda Jaecoo.
Delete.. but why named it Jaecoo, sounds like the coffee shop
ReplyDeleteThere will always be names that hit too close to something else in another country/language. You know the brand of tires BYD uses? Giti? Google what that means in Hiligaynon 🤣
DeleteI Hope the Chinese Vehicle Dealers Improve their after Sales Service and More Outside EV Charger Not Only EV Vehicles.🤞
