Philippine Specs Of The 2026 Honda Prelude Are Now Out

Previewed at Honda Cars Philippines’ 35th anniversary last November, the all-new Prelude takes a step towards heading to showroom floors with our first confirmation of its local market specs.

The all-new Prelude will be offered in just one variant for the local market and it’ll be electrified. The new sports coupe will sport a green (no coding) plate thanks to its Honda two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain (e:HEV).

The Philippine-spec Prelude develops the same outputs as the Civic RS e:HEV—184 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. This is paired exclusively to an E-CVT transmission equipped with the S+ Shift system which simulates rev-matched downshifts and enhanced engine sounds from the 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine. Per Honda Cars Philippines, the Prelude will offer a 0-100 km/h time of 8.2 seconds.

The 2026 Prelude features a “double-bubble” roof and flared fenders that cover 19-inch machine-finished Berlina Black wheels wrapped in 235/40R19 tires. The wide stance is accentuated by the wing-like DRLs and the double horizontal lines of its full-width taillights. Per Honda, it’ll sit very low to the ground with a 115 mm clearance, and it won’t be that maneuverable with its giant 6-meter turning radius.

The exterior features a black chrome grille louver and blue accents at the lower center of the front and rear fascias. That same blue color is also seen on the large four-piston front Brembo brake calipers, adding both style and impressive stopping power.

Over to the side, it has flush door handles and an antenna embedded in the tailgate glass. And as with most new Honda passenger cars, the Prelude uses laser brazing technology along the roofline, eliminating the need for roof molding for a smooth and clean roofline.

Underneath, the Prelude is the brand’s first hybrid model to feature the high-performance chassis hardware of the Civic Type R, including the dual-axis strut front suspension, wide front and rear tracks and large brakes (13.8-inch front, 12-inch rear) originally designed for the hot hatch. This is on top of a standard Adaptive Damper System. Moreover, selectable drive modes (Comfort, GT, Sport, and Individual) enable the driver to optimize the Prelude’s characteristics—powertrain response, steering assist level, suspension damping, engine sound, gauge cluster layout, and adaptive cruise-control at the touch of a button.

The Prelude also adopts enhanced Honda Agile Handling Assist which improves handling and driver confidence through integrated control of the powertrain and braking system in accordance with the driver’s steering operation.

Inside, the Prelude offers an immersive cockpit with a clean design, low, cowl, and thin A-pillars for exceptional forward visibility. The front sport seats feature soft-touch leather, racing inspired integrated head-restraints, and asymmetrical bolstering to balance driver support with passenger comfort. These seats are also accented with high-contrast blue stitching, a perforated houndstooth pattern, and the Prelude logo embossed in the head restraint. The local market will only offer the Blue and White color scheme.

Performance-focused details of the new Prelude’s cockpit include a thick-rimmed flat-bottom steering wheel with high-contrast blue stitching, a position marker at 12 o’clock, and alloy shift paddles mounted to the wheel.

The new Prelude offers 2+2 seating with 813 mm of rear seat legroom. Accessible through a liftback hatch, the Prelude provides ample storage for weekend getaways. Standard 60/40 split rear seatbacks fold flat to greatly expand the available space, enough to accommodate larger items including golf bags.

Technology has been smartly integrated into the cabin of Prelude with a focus on the driver, including a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster with new graphics, a 9-inch HD color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Google built-in, and a wireless smartphone charger. Also standard is an 8-speaker Bose sound system with new door-mounted wide-range speakers, which play lower and louder than conventional 6.5-inch (165 mm) speakers, to create a clear sound profile and a large subwoofer located in the cargo area.

Naturally, Honda Sensing is standard and this brings a suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies to the Prelude including: Collision Mitigation Braking System with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation incorporating Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Monitor, Blind Spot Information System, Auto High-Beam Headlights, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist System.

As for its pricing, Honda Cars Philippines has still kept mum, but word has it is that dealers are taking in reservations, pegging a price tag of around P 3-million for the all-new Prelude which is pretty close to its Japanese market starting price. On the other hand, it is about a million up from the Civic RS e:HEV which shares the same powertrain (read our review).

  3. lets see if this will be priced out of the competition like the pilot... vigor....

  4. Seems like this will be priced just right considering it's a hybrid and it gets less tax and coding exempt.

  5. As much as I love cars, I always ask myself and consider that if sedans and sports cars are still drivable and practical these days given their low ground clearance?

    1. Depends heavily on your local road conditions. Drivable? Sure. Practical? 😅

  6. I wanted to buy this and expecting the price around 2.5 - 2.7m but 3m with dealer mark up? Might as well look for a better one..

    1. Why compare a SUV to a coupe? Makes no sense. The diving evjoymwnt driving a coupe is different from driving a SUV.

    2. Driving a sports car make you feel one with the car and the road. There are SUVs like that also but of course best if with proper driver engagement like with 6-speed manual transmission.

  11. At that price point, you’ll be better off getting a Tesla Model 3 Performance.

    1. Exactly, even a BYD seal performance at a discounted price of 2.3m with 500+ hp. A sports car with 0-100 time of 8.2 seconds?

  12. Pretty sure Joeven "Boy Honda" Yacub is gonna be happy about this new Honda Prelude
Joeven "Boy Honda" Yacub is mainly busy now working at several cellphone kiosks in his hometown Aklan that's why he's mostly inactive online due to his daily work.

He likes Honda cars a lot
He currently lives at Aklan and works at various cellphone kiosk stores there.

  13. It would have been so much better if the new Prelude would have a proper-speed manual transmission. Makes me wonder why the old Honda CR-Z hybrid can have a 6-speed manual transmission while this new Honda Prelude can't.

    1. Hybrid system of the Civic and Prelude can't use a manual transmission.

  14. What competes with this? IS 300h?

  15. To be fair to Honda, a sports car is not all about numbers. It is about driving dynamics which equates to the joy in driving. But Honda at least make it a bit faster for the price it is being sold. A balance of good driving dynamics plus a good push from the engine is the perfect balance

    1. The many reviews by those who have driven the Prelude say that the dynamics will be well appreciated by the type of customers who have already pre-ordered the car; senior citizens.
