Toyota Motor Philippines is set to unveil at least five all-new models in 2026 to build on its strong momentum from last year.
“According to CAMPI [Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines], although we see minimal growth this year... TMP [Toyota Motor Philippines] will approach the year with cautiousness, but ready for any move, any challenge ahead. TMP’s focus will be on two things: to continuously promote mobility for all and to create more meaningful customer connections through a more seamless ownership with Toyota.”
The full line-up automaker will continue to take a neutral stance when it comes to propulsion by opting to expand its combustion, hybrid, and pure electric offerings this year.
Confirmed to arrive this 2026 for Toyota are the Urban Cruiser EV, RAV4 HEV, Land Cruiser 300 HEV, Land Cruiser FJ, and the Hilux.
The first three models come as no surprise as they’ve all appeared in the Department of Energy’s official list of recognized electrified vehicles (Urban Cruiser EV, RAV4 HEV, Land Cruiser 300 HEV).
The Urban Cruiser EV is a compact EV SUV that’s roughly the same size as the Yaris Cross. Based also on its certification, the Philippine spec Urban Cruiser EV will receive the larger 61.1-kWh battery. Its output has also been indicated at 128 kW or 174 horsepower. It should offer 426 kilometers of range (based on WLTP standard) thanks to an advanced thermal management system.
Based off the Suzuki eVitara (another model that’s confirmed to arrive locally), the Urban Cruiser swaps out the Suzuki front end for the Toyota trademark “Hammerhead” look. The copious amounts of cladding also complement the ample ground clearance. Based on the unit brought in by Toyota Motor Philippines, it’ll come with 18-inch wheels with aero covers. Inside, flexibility is the name of the game with a nifty rear seat sliding system that also folds down in a 40-20-40 split.
Meanwhile, the RAV4 HEV arrives in two designations, the Limited (LTD) and the Adventure (ADV). The sixth-generation RAV4 will bring back standard all-wheel drive for the Philippine market thanks to a clever E-Four AWD system. Confirmed in its government paperwork, the A25A-FXS combustion engine produces 186 horsepower (137 kW), while the AXA64L and ANXVB electric motor combo supplementing that with 136 horsepower (100 kW). Both have a 1.09-kWh battery. Globally, this powertrain packs a total of 240 horsepower.
The Land Cruiser 300 HEV is the last of the new hybrid models confirmed by Toyota. The Land Cruiser 300 3.5 V6 ZX HEV is equipped with the V35-FTSe engine—a parallel-only hybrid system. Aside from its high horsepower output, the torque is monstrous at 790 Nm. This makes it the most powerful Land Cruiser ever produced boasting 20 percent more torque and 40 percent improved throttle response over its conventional gas-powered counterpart. Per Toyota, it does 10.9 km/L in mixed city/highway driving. The gearbox is a 10-speed automatic.
Meanwhile, the Land Cruiser family will now be joined the Land Cruiser FJ. The new Land Cruiser FJ measures in at just 4,575 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,960 mm in height With a wheelbase of 2,580 mm—this two-row, 5-seater SUV becomes the smallest member of the Land Cruiser family and is squarely sized like a compact SUV. It is meant to serve a new market segment, one that recognizes the Land Cruiser’s reliability, durability, and off-road performance, but seek a new kind of Land Cruiser.
Underpinned by the IMV platform—the same one used by the Fortuner, Innova, and Hilux—the Land Cruiser FJ has outstanding off-road performance “worthy of a Land Cruiser.” For example, its wheel articulation matches that of the larger Land Cruiser 70 Series. In addition, it’s been enhanced with additional braces under the floor. Together with its inherently higher body rigidity, it’ll have better handling both on- and off-road, while keeping its minimum turning radius down to just 5.5 meters.
The only powertrain confirmed globally so far is a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine (2TR-FE) that produces 163 horsepower (120 kW) and 246 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed Super ECT transmission with a part-time four-wheel drive system. For its Philippine launch, it will likely get the 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV turbo diesel.
Finally, the 9th generation Hilux marks the latest evolution of the nameplate thanks to a bold, future-focused design and more potent powerplant.
Designed to meet the diverse requirements of customers around the world, the new Hilux emphasizes Toyota’s multi-pathway approach by offering both internal combustion engine (ICE) and battery electric (BEV) variants from the get-go.
Underneath the hood, the Hilux comes standard with an improvement version of the 2.8-liter GD engine. The “Super Power” engine provides both high power (204 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque) and improved fuel efficiency—up to 5.8 percent more efficient than the current 2.4-liter turbo diesel and 7.5 percent more efficient than the current 2.8-liter thanks in part to an idle start-stop feature.
More than just launching new cars, Toyota will remain focused in strengthening customer connections through its 86-strong dealer network.
“As you all know, the brand has been here in the Philippines for a while and with the millions of Toyota owners there are today... it is only fitting to further strengthen this bond. We are diligently expanding Toyota and Lexus’ reach across the country. The Lexus QC Gallery, which had its groundbreaking last December, and the new Toyota Antipolo dealership, announced this month, are set to strengthen our connection with customers in providing the best care for them and their cars,” concluded Hashimoto.
