The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) recorded strong growth in its green auto loan portfolio throughout 2025, reflecting the increasing shift of Filipino motorists toward more fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible transportation options.
For the full year of 2025, electric vehicle (EV) financing grew by 219 percent, hybrid vehicle financing increased by 136 percent, while BPI’s total e-vehicle financing portfolio expanded by 145 percent.
The sustained growth comes as rising fuel prices, expanding EV infrastructure, and growing environmental awareness continue to drive interest in hybrid and electric vehicles in the Philippines.
To support this growing shift toward sustainable mobility, BPI continues to make hybrid and electric vehicle ownership more accessible through its Auto Loan E-Vehicle Financing program.
“More Filipinos today are becoming mindful of both their financial and environmental impact when choosing a vehicle,” said Dex Cuajotor, BPI Head of Retail Lending and Bancassurance. “Through BPI’s E-Vehicle Financing, we aim to support customers who want to shift to hybrid or electric vehicles by making ownership more accessible and manageable, while helping them enjoy the long-term savings and sustainability benefits these vehicles offer.”
Through BPI’s Auto Loan E-Vehicle Financing, customers can take advantage of flexible payment terms of up to 60 months (5 years) and a convenient loan application process when purchasing hybrid or electric vehicles. The program aims to make eco-friendly mobility more accessible, while enabling motorists to benefit from long-term savings on fuel and maintenance.
BPI is also offering a Solar Mortgage program wherein access to additional funds can be used to add solar power to homes.
Further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, BPI has equipped select branches nationwide with EV charging facilities to support customers who have transitioned to electric mobility. These include branches in the following areas:
