Jaguar won its first-ever European Car of the Year award as the all-electric I-PACE scooped up the top prize beating the Alpine A110, Citroen C5 Aircross, Ford Focus, Kia Ceed, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and Peugeot 508.

The jury which is composed of 60 motoring journalists from 23 countries recognized the I-PACE for its technical innovation, design, performance, efficiency, and value for money.

With its aluminum construction to take advantage of its all-electric powertrain, the I-PACE delivers sportscar performance and SUV practicality.

As the only all-electric vehicle to be shortlisted this year, the Jaguar I-PACE is designed and developed in the U.K. It’s been a profound sales success globally for the British carmaker, delivering more than 8,000 examples, 75 percent of them in Europe.

Since its launch about a year ago, the I-PACE has received 55 awards worldwide.
