The Geely Coolray Has Sold Over 800K Units Worldwide

The Geely Coolray is now one of the best-selling products sold by Geely Auto ever. Known as the Binyue in China, the compact crossover has sold over 800,000 units in over 40 countries, double its figures from 2021.

From Americas, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asia Pacific, the Geely Coolray has dominated markets, becoming the favorite choice of consumers in its segment.

According to the Market Sales Data, in 2023 alone, Geely sold 63,000 units of Coolray.

In the Eastern Europe region, Coolray sales had a great performance, with its retail sales increasing by more than 190 percent compared to last year. Saudi Arabia also saw an increase, posting an 18.8 percent increase versus its performance last year.

The large increase is down to the launch of the all-new Coolray which was introduced in markets such as Chile, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Mexico.

Launched globally in 2018, the Coolray is a small SUV built on Geely’s B-Segment Modular Architecture (BMA). It stands out for its sporty design and aggressive lines, featuring a powerful air intake front grille, LED headlights with Energy Pulse Three-way daytime running lights and taillamps, as well as 17- or 18-inch wheels, and quad exhaust outlets.

Inside, it offers a dynamic and trendy interior partnered with premium seats. It stands out for its integrated dual digital display, which combines the 10.2-inch colorful instrument panel, and the 12.3-inch high-definition infotainment touchscreen, along with a panoramic sunroof.

It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for all trims mated to a 7-speed wet-type dual clutch automatic.

In the Philippines, the Coolway served as the opening salvo of Geely Philippines when it was launched in 2019. It was then refreshed in 2022.

  4. On the other aging Geely nameplate. Why does Azcarra remain the same since launch in 2020? Is there no 2024 model coming yet?

Bringing it to the Philippine market ain't worth it as it'll be very expensive due to lack of tarrif discount
