Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) launches the new City, new City Hatchback, and new Civic RS e:HEV. Representing a new chapter for Honda in the country, one where they take on a decidedly premium price positioning, the 2027 City and Civic get a slew of new features (and an updated design in the case of the City). It doesn’t however, get any changes to its powertrain, so take that as you will.
2027 Honda City / City Hatchback
Launched locally in 1996, the Honda City nameplate has evolved alongside Filipinos for 30 years. Currently in its fifth generation, the new City takes on a sharper, more refined design.
Both the sedan and hatchback receive new 16-inch alloy wheels, a new clear lens taillight design, and a Prelude-like connected headlight profile. The sedan, in RS trim, receives a new trunk accent and high-gloss black door handles, while the Hatchback RS sports a refreshed rear bumper design.
Inside, the 2027 City receives a larger 10-inch display audio system, updated seat trims, and rear USB Type C charging ports. Both models also have a new under floor storage compartment at the expense of the spare tire which has now been replaced by a tire inflator kit.
Both the City and City Hatchback don’t get any hybrid powertrain for 2027. Instead, they retain the use of their 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC L15 engine. Putting out 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, this is paired exclusively to a CVT. Despite not having any form of electrification, Honda says, this combo provides “hybrid-like” fuel efficiency with up to 25 km/L (based on a Honda-AAP fuel economy run).
Like before, the new City comes standard with Honda Sensing. The RS variants, meanwhile, get rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a Honda LaneWatch camera. Sorry, still no 360-degree camera for the local market.
The new City comes in eight colors depending on the grade:
- Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic (RS Hatchback only)
- Urban Gray Pearl (RS Only)
- Blazing Red Pearl (RS Only)
- Platinum White Pearl (RS and V)
- Crystal Black Pearl (RS and V)
- Meteoroid Gray Metallic
- Lunar Silver Metallic (S)
- Taffeta White (S)
- City S – P 998,000
- City V – P 1,083,000
- City RS – P 1,178,000
- City Hatchback RS – P 1,238,000
An additional P 10,000 premium is levied on the Urban Gray Pearl and Blazing Red Pearl, and P 20,000 on the Platinum White Pearl.
Together with the new City, Honda Cars Philippines also showed off the new Civic RS e:HEV. It now features the S+ Shift system first introduced in the Prelude earlier this year.
The S+ Shift feature on the new Civic RS e:HEV offers simulated gear shifts and even rev-matched downshifts. Complementing it is Active Sound Control which amplifies the engine sounds during acceleration and deceleration.
In addition to the S+ Shift feature, the Civic RS e:HEV still gets Honda Sensing (no blind spot indicators), Honda Connect, and Google Automotive Services built into the 9-inch infotainment screen.
The New Civic RS e:HEV is now priced at P 2,080,000 and is available in the following colors:
All three newly-launched models are now eligible under Honda Secure Plus, HCPI’s extended warranty program. Customers can enjoy a five-year vehicle warranty or 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. An eight-year hybrid battery warranty or 160,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, also applies to the New Civic RS e:HEV.
- Urban Gray Pearl

Like the City, an additional P 10,000 premium is levied on the Urban Gray Pearl and Blazing Red Pearl and P 20,000 on the Platinum White Pearl.
