The Suzuki Swace is Basically a Corolla with a New Face

After the Across compact SUV, Suzuki has shown off their latest vehicle supplied by Toyota. Dubbed the Suzuki Swace, it’s a hybrid wagon based off the Toyota Corolla.

Like the Across, the Suzuki Swace does get its own unique fascia. However, it doesn’t look as radically different with the changes limited to the bumper and grille which gets the brand’s trademark hexagonal bumper. The rest of the car is pretty much the Corolla wagon, down to the fang-like headlight design.

The story’s the same inside where the “less is more” aesthetic of the Corolla gets carried over though Suzuki does get its own unique trimming. One of the biggest highlights is that the carpeted cargo hold has a dual floor design either creating a flat load space or allow taller objects to be stored. It’s also reversible with a resin backside that can be used to store wet or dirty items.

Like the Corolla Hybrid, the Suzuki Swace uses a 1.8-liter gasoline-electric hybrid engine and has independent MacPherson Struts upfront and independent Double Wishbones out back.

Currently, the Suzuki Swace is only destined for Europe as part of an agreement between the two automakers there. Aside from this, Toyota also managed to revive the Starlet using the Suzuki Baleno.
