Refreshed Ford Territory Is Making Its Debut On August 8

Ford Philippines has just confirmed that the new Territory is dropping in this August 8. Shown off through the brand’s social media channels, it shows a substantial overhaul inside and out for their best-selling small SUV.

In the 45-second clip, the new Territory is shown off with some of its key features. The most noticeable is the entirely new front end. Prior to the refresh, the Territory was already a modern-looking crossover in its own right; for this update, however, it goes a step further with its larger, upright grille, new headlights, bumpers, and alloy wheels.

Inside, it looks to sport a fresher interior colorway and new materials while keeping the outgoing Territory’s key features such as the rotary-dial gear selector, dual screens for the gauge cluster and infotainment, and the giant panoramic sunroof.

Go through the video frame-by-frame, and it will show that the Territory is wearing the “EcoBoost” badge. This suggests that it’ll still be offered with a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 160 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque. That said, separate filings made with the Department of Energy (DOE) and LTO, however, suggest that it’ll be joined by an electrified version as well with 218 horsepower. This one will likely sport the a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain sourced from the Equator Sport mated to a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission or DHT.

As one of Ford’s best-selling models locally, all eyes will surely be on the Territory when it makes its Philippine debut on August 8. For sure, we’ll be covering the launch, until then, check out the official teaser video below:

  1. Territory PHEV and territory EV will deal a hard blow to ayala byd sales. Pinoy car buyers would surely prefer a ford over newbie byd.

    2. Territory PHEV is manufactured in China. Ford sourced their batteries from BYD and recently with CATL. Their is no Territory full EV in the market at the moment. Newbie BYD is already a top 5 car manufacturer in the world and vying for a top 2 this year.

    3. Last year byd top 7 in terms of real sales plus zero mileage sales. 4.25M 2024 real and zero mileage sales. Byd target 2025 car sales of 5.5M. So far 2025 jan - june units sold stand at 2.146M, if trends continue byd could sell more or less 4.3M at the whole of 2025

    4. Maybe, maybe not (though why single out BYD specifically? Are the other Chinese carmakers not worth mentioning? lol). Ford is not known for pricing their cars at the prices BYD is selling at (they probably want to maintain a reputation of higher value like the Japanese automakers). Also, there are already Ford EVs in Europe and they don't seem to be making that much of a splash over there but perhaps that's because the European market has so many good options currently.

    5. No. 2 Volkswagen AG sold 4.41 million units jan - june 2025, byd total jan - june 2.146 millions units. Byd sales not even half of Volkswagen, for now BYD = Buried Your Dreams of being number 2 this year.

    6. BYD is a crap car. Already top 5 car manufacturer? They boosted their sales figure and subsidies by the Chinese government lol.

    7. The current (including the above refreshed one) and previous Ford Territory was and is a Chinese Manufacturer designed & built Crossover. Changan Ford & Jiangling Ford are likely the source and or basis for the local Ford Territory.

So the Territory is not truly a Ford, its more like a rebadged Chinese Manufactured Crossover. When BYD's SL6 came out in September 2024 at P1.548M it was a gamechanger and made all other market competitors (Territory included) promptly obsolete because of its technology, fuel economy and value for money.

Not bad for Newbie BYD's first official attempt in producing its first PHEV Crossover.

C'mon Ford bring out the Territory PHEV (Equator Sport PHEV in other markets) that's already being sold in China!

    8. The delusion of people thinking that being able to sell millions of cars while being of crappy quality is even possible. It's like the console wars of yesteryears where people are fighting for the smallest wins in an argument lol (OMG they ONLY sold 2.146 million units? That's like sooo liit /s)

No matter how hard people whine on an internet forum the brand is building awareness and building up their operations. Go outside and scream at every passing BYD car you see and maybe they'll think about getting a refund because you were able to enlighten them lol

  2. The updated front end makes the Territory look older than the pre-refresh model.

  3. Which past Ford vehicles are built by JV in China and how many exists? My rule of thumb is cars have a 15-year life. After 15-years, less and less can be seen in the streets.

  4. Having a refresh every 2-3 years destroys the resell price. But I wonder why they need so many refresh 😂
