Lynk & Co 08 EM-P Scores A 5-Star Safety Rating

Recently launched just this August, the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P scored a 5-star safety rating at its 2025 Euro NCAP safety test.

The latest plug-in hybrid SUV from Lynk & Co scored 90 percent in Adult Occupant Protection, 87 percent in Child Occupant Protection, 78 percent for Vulnerable Road Users Protection, and 81 percent for Safety Assist Technologies.

The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P’s safety measures start with its cabin. The frontal area is built using aerospace-grade aluminum with a reinforced collision beam to absorb kinetic energy and redirect it away from the occupants. The subframe, suspension, and powertrain are engineered to drop in the event of an impact, helping to absorb impact and prevent these from penetrating the cabin. The sides are protected by a boron steel frame with honeycomb filling and steel door beams.

The curtain airbags run nearly two meters along the side of cabin, while side airbags stay inflated for up to six seconds after an impact. Combined, these systems all work together to prevent serious injury to occupants in the event of a major side collision.

Notably, the battery pack itself remains intact. The pack was subjected to more than 100 safety tests including being crushed, impacted, subjected to fire, and punctured. The pack uses a reinforced frame with honeycomb filling, as well as submarine-grade beams and multiple mounting points. The chassis is engineered to also redirect energy away from the battery in the event of a crash, while the battery management system instantly cuts off high-voltage power within 50 milliseconds to prevent any possibility of a thermal runaway. It’s also armored underneath to protect the battery from scrapes or damage.

Of course, its advanced driver assistance features prevent a collision from happening in the first place. These include automatic emergency braking if, for example, a pedestrian or cyclist crosses the vehicle’s path. There’s even a Door Opening Warning that actively prevents the doors from opening if another vehicle is coming, along with external lights to warn passengers and other drivers.

Even during daily drives, the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P also looks out for its occupants’ health and well-being. It uses eco-friendly materials that reduce harmful emissions during production, and features an active cabin cleaning system that ventilates the car automatically when parked. The result is a “three-zero” environment: zero harmful solvents, zero waste cotton, and zero asphalt inside the cabin.

The 08 EM-P is the latest vehicle from Lynk & Co. Priced at P 2,498,000, it’s a plug-in hybrid mid-sized SUV whose large 39.6-kWh battery alone offers a 200-kilometer all-electric range—one of the longest in its segment. Supplemented by a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine, gives it a combined electric/gasoline range of 1,400 kilometers.
