Porsche Clinches 18th Overall Win in 24 Hours of Le Mans


The 84th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will always be remembered for its dramatic finish. There, Porsche took its 18th overall victory in the world’s most famous and toughest endurance race came just before the final lap as the 919 Hybrid Number 2 vehicle of Romain Dumas, Neel Jani, and Marc Lieb passed the erstwhile leader Toyota that faltered with power issues. The pace at the front in the duel with the Japanese manufacturer and the many lead changes pushed everyone to the limit and beyond. Porsche took the checkered flag in front of some of the 263,000 spectators that flocked to witness the spectacle at the 13.629-kilometer Circuit de la Sarthe.

Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia Celebrated its 9th Batch Graduation


The Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia (PTRCA) celebrated the commencement exercises for its 9th batch of scholars held last Saturday, 31 August 2013. Sixteen students were carefully selected by Porsche officials and these scholars underwent complete training in preparation for their role as certified Porsche Service Mechatronics to be deployed in various Porsche Centers worldwide. To date, there are already 127 PTRCA graduates who are currently employed in Porsche Centers located in the Middle East, Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Established in April 2008, the PTRCA is the first Porsche technical training facility outside of Germany made possible through the partnership of Porsche AG, Don Bosco Technical Institute, and PGA Cars. The program aims to provide technical training complete with Porsche training vehicles and special tools, English language training, financial support and employment to underprivileged but deserving Filipino youths.

Porsche Builds Unique Model Based on Internet Community Votes


"5 million reasons to celebrate!" – It was this slogan that got sportscar enthusiasts on the Internet involved in designing a unique Porsche 911 Carrera 4S model. The sportscar manufacturer based in Zuffenhausen, Germany, launched the campaign to show its appreciation for the five million "Likes" it has received from fans. Porsche is now running a competition on its Facebook page (facebook.com/porsche) until August 18 for the chance to win a drive in the one-of-a-kind 911 model at the Porsche Experience Center at Silverstone in the United Kingdom. Nine scale models of the vehicle are also available for the runners-up.

Porsche Places First for Attractiveness and Quality


For the ninth time in a row American customers have awarded sports car manufacturer Porsche first place: so for drivers in the USA, Porsche continues to remain the most popular brand of car. This was the result of the latest survey "Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study (APEAL)" by California market research institute J.D. Power and Associates. Just last month, Porsche drivers in the US voted the Porsche brand the winner in the "Initial Quality Study".

And in the APEAL evaluation the Cayenne takes first place in the "Midsize Premium CUV" segment for the third time. At the same time, the sporty off-road vehicle was voted the third-best in the entire study. The Boxster also gained the most points in its class, winning the "Highest Ranked Apeal" award in the "Compact Premium Sporty" category. The Porsche 911, which celebrates its 50th birthday this year, takes second place in the "Midsize Premium Sporty Car" segment.

The overall ranking is the result of scores in ten different categories including driving dynamics, design, suitability for daily use and vehicle comfort. The current basis for the annual survey is information from more than 83,000 new-car buyers of a total of 230 different models which were registered from November 2012 to February 2013.

Maria Sharapova for Porsche


Tennis megastar Maria Sharapova has taken on a new role: Effective immediately, the 26-year-old world class player will be representing the sports car manufacturer, Porsche AG, as brand ambassador. The cooperation is initially signed for three years and involves a global communications campaign. The athlete is already very familiar with the vehicles from Zuffenhausen: As last year´s winner of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Sharapova not only took home prize money, but also a white 911 Carrera S Cabriolet.

New Porsche Mechtronics to Work in Porsche Dealerships Worldwide

Porsche Center Philippines held it’s commencement exercises last August 18, 2012 for  the 7th batch of Scholars who graduated from the Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia (PTRCA).    

A group of 16 scholars from the Don Bosco Technical Institute  completed the training program which now certifies these graduates to be Porsche Mechatronics. These young underprivileged Filipino youths now faces a bright future of being employed at several Porsche dealerships abroad.  Thus fulfilling the mission of this unique program of helping these youths and their families look forward to a better life.
